Another thought:These 3 point games for OT and Shoot out loses are starting to get to me.What if all games were 3 pointers like soccer. So if you win in regulation 3 points. It's seems like at least half the games are 3 pointers which makes it a lot harder for the bottom teams to catch up.I actually like the idea. If you would have asked me last year I would have been dead against it but winning a game 6-1 or 2-1 for that matter in regulation should be worth more than winning a shootout. My 2 Cents.

Must be nice to have the deepest pockes on the team at 20. There's actually a few stories of Mario getting refused entry into bars in his first couple years of Pittsburgh in his biography with an exchange that goes something like.Bouncer "I can't let you in"Mario "Do you know how I am?"Bouncer "Ya and I know you could probably buy the place tomorrow but until that happens I can't let you in."
The Liquor laws on PEI must be a little less stiff thanthe ones in Pensylvania.
Crosby and the underage crew usually hang out at a bar in the South Side called Diesel that has a private room with mirror glass to look out over the rest of the bar. The big name guys hang out in there, but guys like Talbot just walk around and slam beers. Side story: When the Pens had the dads go with them on a road trip, Talbot's dad came up to the other dads, most of which he didn't know, and said something like "Hope you brought your drinking hats for this trip!"For the PIT/MIA Monday night game a few weeks ago, they roped off a section of a bar next to Heinz Field and just about the whole team was there watching it. When the big name guys left, Malone told the bouncer to take the ropes down. Malone walked by me and I shook his hand. He said something about him being the only one that actually cared about the game.

This...Anaheim Ducks 37 games playedSt. Louis Blues 30 games played...makes a mockery of the standings.
agree.noticed this last week....if Andy McDonald doesnt miss any games due to injury, he could play 86games this year.

I've been noticing this also over the past couple of weeks St. Louis always seems to have several games in hand vs. most of the Western Conference and was wondering how they could have 6 fewer games than some and was wondering if anyone knows if there is an explanation for this or if St. Louis has a packed schedule and Anaheim has a slow schedule at some point.

ANA-SJ game tonight...I saw a penalty call that I don't recall EVER seeing called before.Corey Perry was coming out of the penalty box and played the puck while both his skates were still in the box. He was called for interference.56.2A minor penalty shall be imposed on any identifiable player on theplayers’ bench or penalty bench who, by means of his stick or hisbody, interferes with the movements of the puck or any opponent onthe ice during the progress of the play. In addition, should a playerabout to come onto the ice, play the puck while one or both skates arestill on the players’ or penalty bench, a minor penalty for interferenceshall be assessed.

A question for Chris or anyone else who may know...Is there an alternative (other than Colin Campbell) in place to determine whether or not an act by Gregory Campbell warrants a suspension?

That is interesting because in Hockey Canada Rules that is under Rule 19(f) Change of Players and is considered Too Many Players on the Ice or Ineligible Player depending on the number of players on the ice. But not interference.
