MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Why don't I understand that? Its the idea that the deceased are in heaven, playing hockey. The Broncos players, and Jonathan Pitre who passed away last week, the kid who had the rare genetic mutation who loved hockey and was talked about by many in hockey community. edit: I wanted to look up how old he was since I called him a "kid", and it suddenly hit me hard that he was born same year, same month as my son, just 26 days before my son was born. And now this child is gone, after suffering through so much.
Babying 613
Watching the fathers speak was tough. I never want to feel what they are going through ever.
digitalmonkey 929
Update: Layne is still in an induced coma. They had to remove a piece of his skull last night in an attempt to reduce swelling/pressure, but the pressure is still increasing. They are limiting visitors today. My friend's daughter hasn't left his bedside.
serge 904
I'm not fond of Ilya Kovalchuk's game. 11 years later he is still in the news.. Appears that he will be signing with the Rangers, multiple sources have reported. What do we think of this? I think its a terrible move by the Rangers..They arent even going to be a playoff team..What purpose is this move other than to get to the Salary Cap FLOOR..
digitalmonkey 929
I love the signing but I dislike both Kovalchuk and the NYR.
gruven 530
Every single ‘sticks out for humboldt ‘ pic chokes me up a little and then there was this.... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/sc-noad1~1352123

Babying 613
I still can't believe what that Nora Loreto tweeted. She is a freak. Not sure who would want to follow her to see what she tweets.
pezeveng 207
for those that don't know she wrote. "I am trying not to get cynical about what is totally devastating tragedy but the maleness, the youthfulness, and the whiteness of the victims are, of course, playing a significant role."
digitalmonkey 929
She's just ignorant as to how many people relate to the victims, and not based on race. The messages and responses she's received are worse.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
There is something really beautiful about the coming together of people in support of a cause or a tragedy. As Chris said, every single #sticksout had me a little emotional, and today, its the jerseys that have me choked up. Even my son who knows nothing about hockey and could care less usually about anything to do with hockey, is fully aware about whats happened and is happening. We put our sticks out, and he wanted to put on a jersey today. And now I saw this..... @HumboldtBroncos #JerseysForHumboldt We see you. We hear you. We love you. We are all #HumboldtStrong. really wish I had a jersey on at the office today.

While hockey isnt as big here obviously I made sure to tell my kids to explain to their teachers why they are wearing jerseys and maybe get the word out to people that arent as close to this tragedy as we all are.
