Jason12 0
I liked when he complained about his penalty at the start of the game. "How can you call that 10 seconds in?" Because it was a penalty? So there shouldn't be penalties called at the end of games OR at the beginning of games. The middle is ok though. That should be true but it isnt. mrdannyg 274
Yeah, I didn't like his comments either, but he's 22 and just lost to a team they were expected to beat AND he gets a camera and microphone shoved in his face before he can even get his equipment off.If he can't handle that, he shouldn't be the captain of a professional hockey team. Arguably, he shouldn't be paid $8.7 million dollars, and tens more in other stuff. The second sentence is contentious, but the first is not. Being able to not be a jerk under those circumstances is by no means a requirement, but it is the requirement for a team's captain. IMO

The other, and one we've also heard many times, is that Crosby often lacks emotion and seems like a puppet (of the NHL).
SBriand 4
I've never really got the Crosby-hate, but his post game interview yesterday opened my eyes a little. His whining that he's never seen a team whose game plan is to get outshot and outchanced at every opportunity, and that the Habs will lose the next series because they can't keep playing like they have, just reeked of sour grapes. Whiny bitch, show some class and demonstrate why you have that C on your sweater.Hey at least he decided to get in the handshake line.

He's the captain, he doesn't get to act like that. Also, it's not like I hate the guy now or something.

Would you prefer him to answer honestly and with emotion or do you prefer the talking head spewing cliches... Hard fought series...seventh game...anything can happen...we came up short. mrdannyg 274
He can be emotional and pissed off without being whiney and juvenile. I like Crosby. He is a fantastic hockey player, and I don't think he plays dirty. That's all I ask of a hockey player. But as a captain, he needs to have more class than that. Can you imagine Steve Yzerman making a sarcastic comment like that after a game 7?He wins and he doesn't shake hands. He loses and he whines about the other team. I hope he's not the captain of a Canadian team until he has more class.
SBriand 4
I don't totally blame Sid. Not all athletes have the mentality to be able to say the right things when they are pissed or whatnot. I don't think it helps that he has been placed on this pedestal by the NHL which then forces everything he does and says to be put under a microscope. But if he can't muster up some cliche's and decided not to comment then he gets beat up by fans and media for avoiding the press much like, was it Lebron who did this recently? All I got out of this was that he makes it harder for his supporters to say he is no longer a "crybaby".

Wasn't meant to compare him to Yzerman necessarily. I just did because comparing anything to Steve Yzerman is the easiest way to win any argument.Try it at home, it's foolproof. Mercury69 3
Hope last night's fiasco is simply a wake up call to the whole team, coaching squad included. Jacques, dunno if you just rolled with the same game plan, but I have news for you: The Flyers are good, big and capable. Better get out the X's and O's to chart some new strategy.Good luck!!!
