gfdsa146 0
The foxwoods thread reminded me to ask about the Turningstone Casino in upstate NY. I'm going there this weekend. Any scouting reports on the players there? 1/2 NLHE.

Any scouting reports on the players there? 1/2 NLHE.my friends went last year this is what they told me, I believemax buy in is only $100, the average preflop raise is $8-12 sometimes as much as 20lots of bad players so just sit back and wait for a hand and hope to get all your money in with the best hand
Konch 0
I think the play at TS is your average 1/2 nl - some good, mostly bad. Most people there are not going to make any type of good lay-downs, forget about people folding TP/TK. Pretty much any good hand is going to get paid off.I was just there Friday - I was playing the $100 max table but I think they have $200 and $300 max tables, I assume this is still 1/2Konch

tskillz187 0
Yeah as of July or August they still had $100 and $200 max buyin. The $200 gives you more room but the players are much better. It's a very loose passive game and easily exploitable.

gfdsa146 0
how often is there a pre-flop raise? in other words, how often can i get away with seeing flops with handslike suited connectors, small pairs

notnathan 0
I was there 2 weeks ago. They have 1/2nl 100 or 200$ max. 2/5nl 300$ max and 5/5 500$. The games are fine, the 5/5 was juicy when I played in it but it only got started one day I was there. In the 100 game there are big preflop raises so you have to be pretty picky with starting hands which makes for kinda boring poker, but it can be profitable easily. There 18+ though so you gotta love em.
GetSprung 0
Man I miss this game, juiciest 1/2 NL was the $100 max...only because the good players went to $200 max to see what they call "flops." THere's rarely a cheap flop or family pot in 100 max, just get it in good and you'll build.
