Hello, I'm the administrator of that site. The primary goal of the site is for personal uses as it has information I like to have. Once I make a site for personal uses it's easy to share. Player's value is determined by results, if you cant get results you wont have value. Scoring goals is irrelevant (sounds strange), what matters is who you get those goals with (being the scorer of the goal or on the ice for the goal are considered equivalent). If all your goals are scored with Thornton maybe you don't really deserve the credit. With all statistics there are problems, primarily error. There are a number of things I do to control error, but if a player is having a bad (unlucky) year they will get a bad rating whether they are good or bad and that's how statistics work. So I'm not going to lie, there will be problems with the results and that's to be expected. The information on Wellwood vs. Sundin got me wondering what was wrong with my equation. I just noticed I was giving too much value to PP and PK situations and not enough to even strength situations. I fixed the formula and the results still don't give Sundin near $5M he probably is worth, it did push him to $3.6M.I thank you all for your interest and input into my site. The comments you share improve my data, which makes me happy.

Javageek - awesome work. I'm a huge nerd of things like baseball prospectus and sabermetric stuff, so this kind of thing is very welcome. It does seem you are giving too much value to players who simply kill penalties, and not enough value to things that players do compared to some average 'replacement player' (i.e. VORP and related stats). those stats are easily intuitive and probably not overly difficult to calculate and minimize errors, since league averages should be available.thanks again for your work.and i also saw that wellwood was rated very highly. he's definitely been a strong player this year (though not that strong). however kubina is a friggin joke. i can only surmize it was a 'lucky' year, as he often finds himself playing with the leafs second line, which has been their strongest most games. he can still barely skate, though i guess that's true of several leaf defencemen, and his positioning is better than mccabe, belak and gill :eye roll:
