Foxwoods Casino Question

Recommended Posts

Hey. Both of my brothers are over 21 and they want to take a trip to Foxwoods. The only problem is I am only 20. I was wondering how strict Foxwoods is with ring games and if it is easy to play there being under 21. Would it be worth it to take the trip?

No. It isn't worth the trip. At any casino, if you look under 21, they will card you. It will look pretty dumb when you get there, get carded, and have to go home. Now, their is a chance you can just walk on the floor without a problem. Some casinos are pretty relaxed about their carding policies. Here's a tip: If you can grow facial hair, grow a beard. It will make you look older. I'm serious.

i look pretty young, am not 21 and go to the woods almost every weekend. I've been carded like 3 times in the many many times i've been. There's an entrance to the table games room thats right next to the stairs going down into the poker room, most of the time there's not even a guard there. I have someones old expired ID just incase and that's worked in the few times i've needed it. Yeah you might get ID'd (don't be mad at me if you do) but it's actually really easy to get into the poker room at foxwoods. I have seen people get re-ID'd for drinks at the table though.

I was playing at the Venetian a few months ago and ordered a water and got carded. True story.

The only thing to consider is the downside. If they catch you while you're playing, they'll throw you out and not allow you to cash in your chips, so you'll lose whatever you have on the table. If you do go, DO NOT carry any ID. That way, if they card you, they can't prove you're underage and maybe you'd be allowed to cash out.Either way, you won't be able to play in any tournament, since you need a wampum card to register.

So it's better to just pretend you left your ID in the car/at home rather than have a fake one? And if you say you did forgot, will they likely let you cash in your chips? Will they follow you out if you say its in your car. What can they do if they do find you to be underage (as in, do they just kick you out since it wud be bad media for them, or would they try to take any legal proceedings etc.)

The issue is this: Once they can prove you are not of legal age, you obtained the chips fraudulently, and besides, they technically cannot engage in any transactions with you. I don't know what they do if you say you left your ID in the car, but generally, its bad form to tell a lie that can be easily disproven.I honestly don't know what they do or exactly how vigilant they are. There is always someone standing at the entrances to the various gaming areas, but I've only seen them stop the obviously too young (so young they don't have to ask for ID).My main point was that the downside is they can keep your money and there's nothing you can do about it.

Being someone who goes to Foxwoods all the time, i can offer you some help. I am almost 30 ( turn 30 in 2 weeks ) i look really young for my age, i get carded all the time. I have a 21 yr old friend who goes with me to foxwoods often, he has never been carded, so..... i guess my answer is, if you look older, then the guards probably wont bother you, but, if you look like your 20/21, then expect to get carded, i guess thats kinda of one of the positives of AC, ive never been carded there nor have i ever really seen guards standing watch at the edge of the gaming floor. One thing i agree with, with some of the previous posters, is that the employees who catch more of the underage gamblers more then any other casino personal ( according to some of my friends that work at foxwoods ) are the cocktail waitresses, so like others have said, if you do go and you get in, lay off the booze lol

generally they are in a corner on the main floor. have their own little room, own cashier, own pit bosses, etc...
