Balloon guy 158
I laid down the best hand on the river face up, got my opponent to show the bluff and it confirmed my tell, then I made a sick call with 2 pair with 4 to the straight on the river later that night to bust him out because he said the same thing the same way.But preflop, I never lay down, you never know what the flop is going to be... mtdesmoines 3
Here's mine: Home poker tourney. Blinds 200 - 400> Early position loose & agressive player raises 1200. Donk to his left re-raises 2400, I look down to my 10's look at the donk and know he either has Aces or Kings. Reasoning, the kid had 2 huge tells, the timbre of his voice and a psychological tell - he's afraid of the early postion player and would normally juscall with KJ or AQ. Easy laydown...end of the hand he showed KK$2/5 $3-500 NLI have $650. Villian has $700. I wake up UTG with AK suited and raise to $30. Villain in MP re-raises to $60. I call (debate that if you want). Flop: AKJI bet $120. Villain goes all in. I muck face up. Had him on KK but he shows JJ. Imperfect read; good laydown?
pokerinc 0
we're playing it heads up, he has taken a 60-40 chip lead. i'm dealt AsAc, and pop it up. he smooth calls. the flop comes down AhAd5s. i put out a standard continuation bet-- no slow playing here, we know each other. we hate each other.he pushes. i glance at him, at the dealer, at my backup. i motion my backup over behind the dealer, then lay down the hand face up and say, "we are going to hunt a little rabbit."he reaches for his cards, then his chips. returns his hands to in front of himself, clasped tight. "dude, sick laydown. we... let's call it even.""we are GOING to hunt rabbit, son."he makes a lunge for the deck, and my backups knife pins his hand to the felt inches away from it. the red is much richer than any chip.the dealer is frozen as i burn and flip: jack of hearts.burn and flip: ten of hearts.i whisper, "i think it is time to see your hole cards."he is white-faced. clammy. ugly in his pain. "it isn't like that, man. it isn't LIKE that." his free hand is gripped tight around his cards, crushing them.i lean across and patiently pry them free. first the king of hearts, then the queen.the dealer's motion toward his concealed weapon is thwarted by a bullet from my backup's gun through the base of his skull. blood flowers from his right eye as he collapses across the desk.we compost them both, and the next summer have a bumper corn harvest.Been wondering where Reggie Kray went. JesseW316 0
laid down KK preflop twice. friend showed me aces once but he was a donk so that actually wasn't as hard of a laydown as I thought it would be, he gave it away.Other time:Home tourney, 10k starting stacks blinds were like 200/400 when we got this hand, we all had about the starting stacks.EP donk raises to about 1200, folds to CO who called, I was on the button with KK and made it about 3500. EP pushed and CO called fairly quickly but not instantly, he paused for a second and thought about something. I sat and talked to them for about 5 minutes before finally layin it down. EP had AQ and CO showed KK. Eh, the kings held up but I was fairly certain that would be a good laydown most of the time, and I think I'd do it again today if it was the same two players. sloshr 0
I can't take credit for this one, but I saw something last night in LIMIT HE that made me think of this thread. I am in the SB with AK in a multiway raised pot and flat call the raise. Flop is T83 with 2 spades, checked to raiser who bets, and everyone calls. Turn is JS, and I have the A, giving me nut flush draw and a gutshot. I decide this is my pot and bet, but get 5 callers so I abandon my idea of bluffing the river if I miss. River is a blank, I check, a PF limper bets, PF raiser mucks JJ (top set) face up, everyone else mucks. Winner said "shouldn't have folded, bro" and shows 88 for a lower set. Nice laydown for 1 bet in a big pot. He then tilted off a bunch more chips.
SFAWFD 1
I'm the dealer of a 5 way pot board reads. KdKsKh7cAh. SB goes all in on the river at ever turn that has been slight raises, BB folds other two call. This is 3 hands into a live tourny so the stacks are all about the same. I look down at A7 shaking my head. the three people in the pot are the tightest people in the world. Since I have an Ace I figure two of them have that and one has a King. So I fold my hand face up as people look in amazment until the Big Blind flips over his King Jack off suit. I play with these people all the time in live tournys so that's how I knew there style. If I wasn't last to act it's a much tougher laydown.

DB10-2 0
i'm bb with two aces in a deep stacked 1-2NL game at MGM. EP hayseed donk kid makes it $15 to go. aggressive asian kid who could really play paused and called. i repopped to $50 from the BB (in retrospect, this was not enough) and they both called, though again, the asian kid took a bit of time. he had us both covered.i knew the hayseed had JJ or QQ and the asian kid had suited connectors. not where i wanted to be.the flop was 8-9-10 rainbow. i checked in disgust, the hayseed bets like $50, the asian kid pops him to $150, and they get it all in eventually as i fold without thinking about it. hayseed shows JJ for an OESD and an overpair, and the asian kid shows 9h-10h for top two. his hand holds up and he busts the hayseed. would've busted me, too.after the hand was over, i was like, you know what i folded, right? the asian kid asks if it was ace king, and i reach down and pull the two aces from the edge of the muck. that was stupid, because nobody would play a pot with me after that. Mercury69 3
Yesterday I had a good one (not stellar, but it's recent and I thought it was good):Got AK in MP, raised it to 3x BB (to 90). SB smooth calls, BB raises to 300. I think for a bit and call, because it feels like an overbet of a mid-PP. SB thinks for a bit and I'm sensing "fold", when he pushes. BB Hollywood's for his time clock before pushing and, at this point, I'm 99% certain one of them has AA or KK or, less likely, one has AA and the other KK. Either way, at least one or more of my outs are dead (leaving me drawing very thin against any PP), so I fold. SB has KK, BB has AA. Cards, of course, come down QJxxx and AA takes the pot. When I can lay down top set against quads, I'll come back and post another one.
