project240 0
I just got back from a week in Vegas. I didn't play nearly as much poker as I would have liked to, but the time spent playing went very well.I only played a total of about 16 hours in 4 sessions, 2 of which were very short. Here are the details... Enjoy!Second night in Vegas, I was with my gf along with a friend and his wife. We had just checked out the hilton and were down at the end of the strip. My gf and the wife wanted to go check out Circus Circus and some of the stuff there, so my buddy and I sat down at their only table they had going, a $1/2 NL max $400 buy in. We both buy in for $200 and the fun begins.Very first hand in Vegas I fold, second hand I get black aces UTG and make it $12 to go, 4 callers, then BB pops another $30. I reraise making it $100 total and BB calls. Flop comes Q-J-4 and he quickly moves in. Buddy next to me mentioned when I first sat down the guy is a little wild... I called and he showed me K-Qo as I raked in my first pot. Didn't pick up much for the next hour, but then drunk/aggro/crazy guy sits down. This is where the game got fun. This guy raised every hand, every hand! Most of the time he made it $30, he showed several of his reraises with 9-10o and J-7s. He had bought in for $200 and quickly built to $320. I decided I would just sit and wait for a hand. About 10 hands later (he raised every one of these 10 hands and never went broke yet) I picked up QQ. I raised from EP to $20. Folds to him and he makes it $90 to go. Against a good player I'd consider folding, but against him, I reraise and decide to just move in. He calls and flips over A-J, a monster in his books. Queens hold up and he rebuys for another $200. I just continued to play tight and come over the top whenever I had a hand. This guy just didn't learn and kept calling my preflop reraises. He left after busting about 8 times and my buddy and I left soon after, him with $700 and me with $1900... what a great first night in Vegas.I've never sat with more then $1200 before in a $1/2 game... what a great felling having a HUGE stack in front of you.Next night, my buddy and I played at the Sahara for awhile. Again, buy in for $200 and left after about an hour down $30... This table was so tight, average pot was like $15 and a PF raise would usually take down the blinds.Played the next night at the Wynn. Bought in for $400 in the $1/3 game. The game was playing fairly passive preflop and more aggressive post flop, so I saw a lot of flops cheaply and got paid off nicely when I hit. Couple of hands...I'm in BB with 6-9o, limped around. I check and flop comes 7-8-10. I check, Ep bets $10, 1 caller and I just call. Turn comes a 3. I lead for $25 now, the flop bettor now moves in for another $110. The other guy folds and it gets back to me. I figure it's not very likely he moves in here with the nuts, more likely a set. I call and he flips 10-8, no help on river and I'm up $200. One round later I flop another straight from the BB w/ 4-5 when the flop comes 3-6-7. Again I get paid off nicely. My buddy hadn't picked up many hands. He had been playing very tight until finally I see him make it $18 from the cutoff after several players limped in front of him. The BB called and everyone else folded. Flop came 9-9-5. BB checks, buddy bets $28 and the BB moves in for another $70. My buddy took a long time, but finally called telling me he thought he was up against aces slowplayed. Anyways, BB turns over A-5 and rivers an ace. We decide to leave, buddy down about $100 and I'm up $700.I played one other uneventful night of poker and left Las Vegas +2800 in only 16 hours of play at $1/2 NL. I know I was running well, but the awful play at times was incredible. I hope to head back in a few months with just a couple guys and play quite a bit more poker next time. StrippersNBlow 0
That wasn't LONG at all. I felt rather unsatisfied. A week in Vegas, and we get four hand histories, and no other stories? Sin City, and you play four hands of poker, you and your gf aren't approached by a lesbian while you're rolling at Rain, no dead hookers, no pros in sight. It's just wrong somehow. Maybe you should play less poker next time.

Balloon guy 158
Good job but something to think about. When you are in Vegas and your girlfriend and another woman ask to go somewher alone, they might not mean: We want you guys to have fun so we'll just go check out circus circus.I mean they used the hotel circus circus because it puts in your mind family fun, not wet tshirt contest at the pink taco.If I ran into them after they ditched you, it would be hard for them not to want to hit on a guy like me. So next time, drug them and leave them in your hotel room. That way you can gamble with peace of mind. Tell them later how much fun you all had after they did those 6 jello shots, they'lll believe you.

pezeveng 207
Did you catch the pussycat dolls casino at Ceasars. It felt like playing BJ at a strip joint, hottest dealers in town, plus 2 chicks dancing in cages.

project240 0
I could add a lot more hands, but many of them played out the same way... especially in the first game. Small raise, reraise, I push with Kings, he calls with 9-7. I limp, call a $14 PF raise with 7-7, hit a set and don't put in a raise until the river because everyone else is doing my betting. This was just a post about my poker experience in Vegas.
DB10-2 0
his experiences pretty well mirror mine when i play low limits in vegas. you basically have four categories of players to watch out for:1. drunk maniacs (they will give you their money, over time)2. bad tourists (they will never fold a pair or a draw, and again, will give you their money, over time)3. people who can play to some extent (local low limit pros, people visiting who play in home games--you have to be careful but usually they're not the greatest, either)4. real players (very, very rare)the secret really is just not being too tricky, waiting for big hands, and getting paid off. if you take stabs at small pots, most of these guys will let you know you're beat in a pretty convincing manner. if you can put in enough hours, it's hard to lose.
