Shimmering Wang 1
what's with comedians and suicide or early death...seems like an awful lot.I've always had the feeling that most truly good comedy is rooted in deep misery. I mean, that's what comedy is, right? Tragedy + time. Pretty much everything funny that I say or do is borne of some tragic coincidence, bad decision, or impossibly shitty luck. Comedians just let people in, and shine a brutally honest light on the misery they feel. Wang

BigDMcGee 3,355
I hate almost all stand up comedy, so I'm probably the wrong one to ask about jeni. Jeni was one of those comedians who blew up in the stand up boom of the 90's.. and apparently a casualty of the stand up bubble bursting. I honestly hadn't thought of this guy in years, he used to be all over the place, on commercials, doing voice overs, guest spots, leno etc. I do agree with the essence of what wang said, that the clowns are often the saddest of all. hblask 1
I used to love Richard Jeni's comedy. His bit on watching Jaws III (or IV) is one of the all time great comedy pieces. I heard some of his more recent stuff, and, like most performers, it never matched the energy and inventiveness of his early humor, but he never sucked. Plus, he did to one of my ex-girlfriends what Brad Pitt does to most women..... it was like having your own warm-up act.

Wangyeah wang has it rightlook at hedburg, hicks, bruce, they all were friggin amazing but they all we're chronically depressed and pointing it out for the world to see. they made light of the dark things we all face in life that make us sad.yeah i'm a funny guy too......................around the keg and ****, but i'm sure i'll probably blow my face off toobut not before i make alot of people laugh tho
BigDMcGee 3,355
the worst part of it is, that he shot himself in the face and he didn't die immediatly, he died at the hospital.. that has to be an excutaingly painful way to die. Lesson to would be suiciders, use a shotgun.

You ever seen that picture on Rotten.com where the guy blew his face off with a shotgun to commit suicide? He blew his face off, but he didn't die, even later. You could see one of his eyeballs still hanging on looking at the camera, he didn't look too happy. If you are going to do it kids, be old fashioned and get in front of that train. If set-up properly, a shotgun in the mouth is fool-proof. Plan to be cremated, though.
