Don't bother, AC sucks. Just got home from Ceasars and endured tons of bad luck. 2 set over set's, 2 card flushes, and bounced from the 300 circuit event when I pushed UTG with 10's for 6 x's the bb (aipf), to be called by AJ and J2, A got there on the turn. Solid loss of 2K. March sucks, but hey bust of luck. Go with the Borgata or Taj for garunteed tables running.

i agree...but if its his first trip to ac , hes gotta check out the taj as well.... and yes i know its dingy and grimy ...but......
Yeah. I guess that he's got to play where they played in Rounders? And so that when he goes to Borgata, he realizes how nice things are at Borgata compared to all of the other poker rooms in AC.

The Borgata is the place to go for class. I've never been to Veags, but they say the Borgata room hangs with the best Vegas has to offer. *note. the Borgata is in the marina area of AC and makes it a bit of a pain to get to the other casinos...everything else is on the boardwalk. You cant beat the Taj for action. There are always multiple 1-2 NL tables running. Though, mid-week this time of the year, the tables are going to be chalked full of locals. The Wild Wild West of all places has nightly SNG's. $50 + $15. Lots of idiots in those games.Caesars poker room is one of my fav's. Super nice tables and chairs. The wait staff is 10 times more attentive than anywhere else. The trop is a must do. I broke my "live" cherry there. Nightly tournies and regular side action. I've had too many really bad dealers there though. If you play there and have a dealer named "Bernie", tell him Cueball says thanks again for the 3 mis-deals! (he mis-dealt to me twice during the final 2 tables of a $200.00 tourny. once i had pocket tens, the other AK)Recently a couple of my friends played at the Hard Rock. Not the best room or action but cool environment and eye candy.

The hilton has a 2pm daily $50 buyin tournament that attracts around 60 players. It is very low key and is a great way to get comfortable playing live if you are a primarily online player. 3000 starting stack, 30 min levels, after the 2nd break the blinds and antes get treacherous and force the action. I FT'd this on Thurs. Then I played at showboat, $60 buyin 10000 starting stack, no antes, 20 min levels. Couldn't get anything started here but my buddy went deep, and it was a fun event.A while back I played the midnight madness at taj, which had a similar buyin/structure.

If you are flying in, take the Academy bus out of Port Authority, but make sure you take a bus that goes into Caesar's, because they give you $20 in cash when you get there. The other casinos mostly give you slot cards. As far as poker rooms, Borgata is obviously the best (be sure to check out the waffles at Bread and Butter), with the Taj also being a must visit. The Taj will have a 3/6 LHE game going pretty much at all times, while Borgata might struggle in the very late/early hours. They also have $50+15 Sit and Go's going at all times at Borgata. You just have to get a full list of interest. The Showboat poker room is very nice as well, although not nearly as much action as the other two. I think they might have a 1-2 NL table with a $100 max buy-in, so that might be the best place to play small-stakes NL. For tournaments, check out www.acpokerguide.com, and click on the All Daily Tournaments link.

To earn $20 in cash when I get off the bus...do I have to book a room at Caesar? Do you know what is the correct bus to take it?Thank you.

What constituted a misdeal? If it was a misdeal, how do you know what you had?

http://www.academybus.com/casinos_PDF_shedules.aspAlso, I was looking at the Academy site, and it looks like a lot of the casinos offer cash now. And you don't have to do anything to get the cash, they give it to you as you walk off the bus. Basically, it turns it into about a $10 bus ride. It's about 2 1/2 hours each way, though, so if you want to get a lot of poker in, leave early or plan to stay late.

Caesars actually gives you less than most $17, Bally's $22, Hilton $22, Tropicana $20 and every where else is cards I believe. If you enjoy a cigarette as you play Bally's is the spot.................lots of regulars there so watch out, they're good guys no collusion just good players.

Is it common collusion in Atlantic City? Is it a good idea to have a lot of attention or it is a friendly poker?

Collusion is not a big deal from what i have seen. some of the gradners will stay way from each other and then just check it down if the pots comes heads up but that isn't the norm.the games can go from friendly to nasty depending on the limit / type of game and of course the people invloved. I have played very friendly 2/5 no limit and seen nasty 6/12 limit games.
