Lol take all of my advice with a grain of salt.Is leading the river bad? The only hands that scoop you are A266/A2TT/A2QQ/A277, but how often does BB wake up with that? Other than that, I think you quarter him/scoop the pot quite often on the river here...

cap the flop. cap the turn. cap the river HU. the only hand that really beats you is a bigger set and a2, so fire and fire away. you have a four card monster.

Yeah, ok. This felt super passive.I was kinda in one of those "assume he has the nuts" mode. I figured a better low draw, at least. However, I should have the best high, usually, so I don't know why I let go.

yeah, never do that with a 4 card hand unless an amazingly passive player is capping with you without a second thought. you're good for at least 3/4 WAYYYY more often than you lose money in these sorts of spots.

By 4 card hand, do you mean one that has a decent high, as well as a good low here?
Yes, in general. It literally means you are using all 4 cards from your hand (obviously)...but in PLO8 speak, it usually means you have a strong 2 way hand that uses all 4 cards. The most common example is two pair + nut low. And I agree with checky...play this one hard. Getting scooped out is very unlikely.

Agree with most of what checkymcfold said, except one thing I'm not sure of in a hypothetical situation.Assume we lead/3-bet the turn and it is capped HU. Do we really need to cap the river? Villain seemed pretty confident on turn, so wouldn't that suggest a potentially stronger hand than us in at least 1 direction. And the river brings extra hands to beat us.Wouldn't bet/call be a little more prudent? Or is that MUTB syndrome??

hmm, what's MUTB?as for your point, it's well taken against passive opponents who won't cap aything but nut/nut hands. it's just very, very important to cap most 4 card hands down in HU situations to ensure maximized value when you hold a wheel+6, etc. on later hands against any opponents even bordering on normal. capping 4 card hands, especially 2nd/2nd type hands on uncoordinated board, is a safe way of getting your image such that you'll get paid off almost every time when you have a nut/nut type hand. IMHO, but i play a pretty image-y style of LO8 these days.
