aucu 3
If it was me I'd proly wait a bit but not too much, take a middle road.
joethepro 0
that sucks grinder, but i think the facelessnes of the internet will cause many people to do this.remember, you are a winning player -- imagine someone who has lost the past 20 games to their supposed "bad beats" they will see this situation and justify it to themselves as, i feel bad doing this, but I "deserve" this for all the beats I've taken.i've had this problem before so now i have my laptop beside my ready to "borrow" my neighbour's wireless connection if my internet goes down. but unfortunately, it doesn't help much in cash games. in a tourney, it's a life saver. or get dial up as back up. nutzbuster 7
damn grinder thats sucks. but congrats anyway it seems like you are on a bit of a heater keep it upback to the stealing blinds. i agree with you, i will give my opponent between 5-10 mins to come back. i wont wait forever though but i think you definately should wait a little bit. but really i guess there is nothing against the "rules" about what he did but that still doesnt mean he is not an *** for doing it. i guess i just still believe there should be some honor in this game but i guess some of these players could carelessoh yeah this also kind of reminds me about the wsop event where the guy said a bad word heads up and was given a penalty. the other guy then went on to steal the guys blinds the entire time what an *** that guy was too.I'd steal those f-ing blinds so G-D fast you'd thinkg a freaking hurricane just blew your shitt up! s/w, obv. Sorry grinder, but you know.....this shitt is rigged anyway.
astros11ss 0
lmao sick videoGL grinder.Oh, and check out 2+2 NVG Bkice, huge new drama bomb lol please believe i got in on absolute ground floor... check like 2nd or 3rd post of that thread :]
astros11ss 0
I would wait 10 minutes for the person to get their connection back, after that it's open season on the blinds. Not waiting at all, it's straight up pathetic.EDIT: The Toilet-0 who posts here was playing HU in the UB 200k (18k diff between first and second) sat out and waited for his opponent to come back.toilet only waited for t soprano cuz he knows/respects his game and i told him that were the situations reversed, t sop would wait for him. toilet had/has absolutely no interest in waiting for disconnected people to come back (i.e. his decision had absolutely nothing to do with principle, it was just the specific situation). the only situation i will ever wait for someone to come back is if i am reasonably certain they would wait for me if i were disconnected and/or i know the person. i don't really blame him for stealing your blinds, as he has no clue who you are or that you would sit out and wait for him.there was a big thread on p5s several months ago about ozzy87 raping some guys blinds in a $5k heads up sng and not sending the money back minus the rake afterwards... this was the general consensus that everyone came up with was most fair. DunkinDonuts 0
Ya, it definitely is not right to f other people over just because you "think" they would do it to you. This has happened to me before and I did not steal the other guys blinds madly. If this happens in a SNG however, i think its fine to rape his blinds... What's the reason for distinction?
msals11 0
i guess the guy just figured whether u were sitting in or out, he was still gonna be rapin' ur blind :icon_clap:seriously though don't sweat it, as you know it's part of the game and it's to be expected, just sucks that it happened HU
Dratj 0
I've never been HU when it's happened but I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't wait unless they knew or respected the guy. I'd probably wait a little bit but not 10 minutes. Maybe 2 min. max.
CaneBrain 95
Ten minutes seems a bit much. This is poker not tiddlywinks as Arieh would say. However, 3-5 minutes HU in a big MTT seems fair. Bad luck grinder but 2nd aint so bad.
outsider13 0
That really sucks, but GG grinder. On a side note, does anybody have a backup connection? I had 2 problems in SnGs where this happened to me and once mid hand with quads where I was bet into and then disconnected. After that I immediately looked for ways to have a backup. Fortunately I have a dialup account that I use while travelling for work so I use that. For you big MTT guys, it's probably worth looking into as you can get an account for about 10 bucks a month (or less).
Weaver 0
I never have, nor will I ever blind somebody down HU. Nor will anybody with any hint of class.this was discussed a while back and most everyone said theyd steal like crazy...somebody posted the very memorable "id break my mouse stealing blinds"
Vatche 0
meh, unless i know the guy, im gonna break the mouse stealing...nice cash grinder...youre on fire.

GrinderMJ 0
grinder do you live in TO? i'd like to see the actual cards and how you play in person. i'm sure i could learn a lot about online tournies. or anyone else that does really well who plays in the bigger tournies. hoosier? If I can find the UB hand history for this tournament, I'll throw up the full thing sometime tommorrow, on diff computer now, and busy for the night. Jam-Fly 8
If it were a big tourney like this one, I would(try) and wait for a few minutes. However, if it were a SnG or some low buyin MTT, screw thm, they aint waiting eitherThat is stupid. That's like saying you would steal $50 from a guy but not $50,000. Your either a robber or your not. The buy in should have little effect on your ethical decision
Jam-Fly 8
I think what I would do, is raise with my above average hands. So I would raise about 60-70% of the time and fold garbage like 6-2 and 9-4.Theres also another thing, what if he is a bad player, and when he reconnects, the blinds have risen and it is a craps shoot? This is unlikely in a big MTT but in a turbo heads up, I can see one 5minute delay affecting the match quite a bit. Also, what if you were 'destined' to win the tournament in a AAvKK confrontation, but because of his disconnection and your good morals, this hand never happend and you end up losing the tournament. Just somethings to think about
Jam-Fly 8
Disconnect Ethics DiscussedFound this in that thread...Ive been thinking about this since I saw that happen..I think I might sit out. not sure though..65k is life changing for me at this point and I might be willing to do the unethical thing to get it. I guess no one can really say what they'd do unless they were in that situation themselves.I guess we all had to start somewhere
No_Neck 0
I would steal those blinds. It would my only chance to win once I got heads up. Good game Grinder.
