Appropriately Semi-bluffing The Turn

Recommended Posts

Villain is 27.54/16.18/1.86Limit Holdem Ring gameLimit: $5/$106 playersConverterPre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with 9 :D T :D UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, Hero checks.Flop: 3 :) 6 :D T :club: (3SB, 3 players)SB bets, Hero raises, UTG+1 folds, SB calls.Turn: Q :D (3.5BB, 2 players)SB checks, Hero bets, SB raises, Hero ?????Does anyone call and fold the river UI?I think 3betting and seeing a free showdown is hte best play here. If he caps the turn, folding river UI is pretty easy then.

I think calling turn and river > 3-betting.That way we always get to showdown for the same price as the 3-bet, free showdown. We are also likely to get the chance to raise the river if we hit, which makes the 3-bet on the turn less useful. Also when we're behind and he caps we have put in a lot of bets on the turn with an equity disadvantage.

I don't semi-bluff-3bet over a check-raiser.We just don't have the fold-equity that makes the semi-bluff worthwhile.I call down.--CM
