Online Sites And Wsop M E Buyins

Recommended Posts

Well, here in Arizona, my local B&M casino is running their annual every 2 weeks "win a seat to the WSOP!" promotions. 180 entries capped, $170 buy in. Every 2 weeks until mid May. (btw, I have lasted like 10 minutes so far in the first 2, lol, got off my TAG game and got crushed). But here is what I learned this weekend...The top 2 finishers in these were to receive WSOP seats. OR SO I THOUGHT. Instead, they are giving away 10K IN CASH to each winner this year and HOPING that those winners will then go enter the WSOP on the casinos behalf. I asked the tournament director about this and he said that they were told that Harrahs was NOT going to allow direct 3rd party buy ins and that the winners had to do it on their own.So my questions is this....has anyone heard concretely for sure if this is true for all online sites?.....awarding cash this year instead of actual seats? This was the rumor a while back. Gonna really kill the me field (prize) this year if true. :club:

Even that CAZ isn't giving out seats sucks. You know none of the winners will actually use it to buy in :(Mark

They only pay out $20,000? I calculate the entry fees and it is $30,600 that the casino takes in and they only pay out 20k. Ha, you are getting absolutely raped by that rake. I would highly suggest you don't play that tournament.

That is standard CAZ bs. I won't play in their tourneys because its so lame. Their daily tourney is $60, and they take $20 out from each person, and the night one is $130, and they take $30 out. (correct me if I'm wrong Scott, but I think thats what I remember). They do have an end of year tourney or something for the points leaders with some prizes, but if you're just playing now and then, they are raping you imo, so I boycott. But every tourney sells out, so they don't care.Mark

Dear Concerned,The gentleman pictured below will meet you in the lobby of the Rio with your $10,000 buy-in chip. He will personally escort you to the sign-in area and wait while you sign up for the main event. If you are unable to fill out the forms, let's say, because of a few broken fingers you received while trying to run away with the chip, he will be glad to fill out the forms for you.If you should have any questions, keep them to your fucking self. there are always people in the registration line selling tourney chips for full face value. it would not be hard to sell the chips if you want to...

At least that way, you have to be up there, so maybe a little more likely that you'll buy into an event.Where does FTP get the Harrah's tourney chips? Like, if anyone can buy them from Harrah's, then why don't the B&M's just do that?Mark

I thought they were just regular casino chips.

The WSOP Two Seater at Casino AZ was $150+20, Seats to top two, payouts to top .. 10 I think? I thought it was slightly strange, but I don't know. Someone mentioned that top 20 at least made their money back. In either case, there is more money going out, but I'm not sure how close it is to the actual $150*188 = $2,8200.I was watching it a bit while playing some $4/$8 on Sunday. If I thought I could ever shake my NL donkishness, I'd give it a shot.Ray

Last year Full Tilt paid out the bracelet race win with 3 $500 Rio chips. I could have taken them to play BJ if I wanted to.However I don't have inside info on how they are doing it this year.

I was just up there the other day and if I remember right it is seat plus 1200 cash for first and second and cash prizes for 3rd through 20th. With 11-20 only getting around 200 dollars

Worrrrrrrrrrrd. CAZ jams ya right in der pooper with theses tourneys for sure. They have a sick re-buy once a month that is a much better deal (this Saturday actually, 20K 1st place typically) and their end of the month usually has a prize pool that makes it almost worth the time. But yeah, the daily's just juice yourass to death for reals.

That's about right Ray. Top 2 get 10 grand each (not sure about additional 1200 in spending money?) and they pay out like $200 to the next 10 or so, so it's really lame unless you finish 1 or 2. (hence my tendency to jam the crap outta the pots early...go big or go home in this one).

If I had a $10k WSOP:ME buy-in chip, then I would wait outside the cashier window at the ME and sell it to someone who was going to buy-in anyways for $.90 on the dollar. Then I would use that money for hookers and blow. Damn, I'm like Clark Howard...
