anyone know where online i could find one of those charts that you can find in casinos that shows you what the best play to make is given your two cards versus any card the dealer has face-up?

What do you want to do with that chart? Win? I hope not. You lose no matter how you play, so why take the fun out of it by following a stupid card. Keep "gambling" where it needs to be, in the entertainment section.

If you know anything about gambling and probability, you would know that blackjack is the only beatable table game in the casinos. You just got to work hard in learning how to play correctly. But its gotta be live Blackjack...its impossible to beat online blackjack.

...and the strategy card is just a first step!To make it +EV you have to learn cardcounting. But the strategy card reduces the house advantage from up to 5% (for the worst gambling type of BJ player) to something like 0.60% or even 0.25% on a decent Single Deck Game. (DON'T EVER PLAY THE 6:5 SINGLE DECK RIP OFF GAME)The basic strategy is easy to learn and well, isn't it fun to win more at BJ? I never understood why knowledgeable Poker players start to gamble at BJ.BTW - you can get much better comps on BJ than on Poker.Shadow

actually just wanted to find a chart because i wanted to experiment with one at some play money blackjack.I've got to get better at the other poker games (omaha, triple draw, 7 stud) before I spend some serious time mastering blackjack. i think i'm above average at holdem but below average on those other 3 (meaning, in holdem i consistently win, in the other 3 i consistently break even).so anyways, just wanted to tinker around with it. thanks fo rthe infooh, there is one thing. at the site that was recommended that had the chart there, he recommends basically following the chart to just about break even and collect all the bonus money sites offer. his claim is that the chart reduces the house edge of online BJ to around .4 percent. it does seem like a decent idea to hit up all the online casinos and play until the bonuses clear - so long as the bonus is greater than .4 percent (which of course, they are all way above that) it would be a realistic money maker. i might tinker with that too...

yeah you can beat it by counting cards. The little pocket chart won't help you beat it though. Even if you play perfectly the house advantage is somewhere around 1%.
The point of the card is to show you which decision is the best statistically. It doesn't guarantee that you will win over all or even by each individual decision. This keeps the houses advantage at 1%. Playing without basic strategy makes the houses edge even higher. For example, intuitively some would hesitate to hit a 16 vs. a dealers 10 card, but statistically it is better to hit. That is where a basic strategy card is helpful. Also, if you plan on learning to count, you'd have to know basic strategy and also when to deviate from it based on the count.

The only thing with that is that you need to make sure that the sites are actually dealing random cards. They maybe programmed like the blackjack machines at casinos. Meaning, that they are basically glorified slot machines and are controlled by a random number generator that is set to keep a certain percentage of money played (the "hold").Basic strategy cards will only help if the game is random.

The only thing with that is that you need to make sure that the sites are actually dealing random cards. They, do, it works, many of them alow you to play a BJ bot on them or have their own.Getting your money is sometimes a pain though, requiring you to fax documentation etc, that sort of thing.Post on 2+2's "internet gambling" forum about "casino whoring" and someone will point you in the right direction.
