1/2 NL @ House of Blues in ACHero has a tight table image. Has shown down very few hands and 2 hands being KK and AA and a set. Tight aggressive. Stack $325ishVillain: massive chip stack: 800$+ but playing big stack very poorly. Gained chips by betting when he has something and folding when not. Not very tricky and not calling raises or re-raising unless he had somthing. 1st pos. Limp & call2nd pos (hero) has JJ and makes it $123rd fold4th fold5th (villain) calls6th fold7th callSB foldBB foldpot roughly $48flop 10c-8c-3d1st pos. checkhero bets $35villain call7th fold1st foldpot $120turn 4shero: bet $65villain thinks for a few minutes, call$65 & raises $100 on top. What is the hero's play? What i am debating is whether the turn is a check? And is $35 too much on the flop as i should have been keeping the pot small with only 1 pair?

If you think he's capable of making a move without a hand here, then go ahead and push. Based on your description, he has something. I don't think he'd wait til the turn to raise if he had AT. His something is probably beating yours.Safe bet is to fold here and wait for a better spot.

The bet smells fishy to me. If your table image is a rock and you're raising to $12 in EP, villain might smooth call pre-flop looking to bet at a scary board.Your hand looks good after the flop, and your bet pretty much dictates you have an overpair. If villain thinks you have QQ or JJ here, he knows a re-raisemight have you second guessing the strength of your pair. If it were me in this situation, depending on your read on the villain I guess, I would either smooth call and push the river (if it doesn't show an overcard) or push here. He's laying you good odds (over 3:1) to make the call here, and the pot is a good enough size. If he turns QQ-AA or a set, then he set a beautiful trap, and it's time to re-load. I think you're ahead here though.

I think it would be incredibly weak to check the turn here.
Yeah, gotta bet the turn. Once he reraises, its a line that alot of players use with a flopped set. His bet is asking for a call. He CC pre so what do most TAG players have here? A small pair or suited connectors. Its a fold with your stack size IMO

don't listen to him a nit is a an uber tight player. (at least this is how he is using it incorrectly IMHO)I would have called but I am a donkey, and I don't fold overpairs.
