Zach6668 513 Posted March 9, 2007 Share Posted March 9, 2007 I'm so life ****ing tilted from poker.I can't win a ****ing session to save my ****ing life anymore.I finally have a session where my ****ing big hands hold up, etc, and I'm up a nice amount, and I go and get ****ing 2 outed like 5 hands in a row, and give it all back and then some.Wtf is going on?Why can't I beat this game anymore?Seriously.I'm about to ****ing breakdown and cry.Every ****ing day since January, I've been ****ing just getting ****ing owned at the tables.Every ****ing person says "oh, it'll turn around"... blah blah blah.WHEN THE **** DOES IT TURN AROUNDThis is ****ing sickening.And I'm not even counting the ****in BS in Vegas where I lost with boats twice for ****ing stacks.I just don't know what to do anymore.It's ****ing sickening.Every ****ing day I come on here, play my best, play exactly as I've played for years when I was destroying this game, and the same ****ing result. I flop TP HU and the other guy turns trips, after raise/calling with air, etc.It's so ****ing sickening how the biggest aggro retards are consistently being rewarded here. I want to ****ing throw up at this ****.It's ****ing sickening.If anyone wants to seriously help, and not just say "it'll turn around" or "take a break", please let me know.I'm ****ing sick. navybuttons 15 Posted March 10, 2007 Share Posted March 10, 2007 If anyone wants to seriously help, and not just say "it'll turn around" or "take a break", please let me know.I'm ****ing sick.i've been there (or pretty close). i don't know if i ever cried but i was pretty close 24hrs. a day.there's nothing you can do. i couldn't watch a movie because i'd think of the pot where he hit his two outer. if i tried to read my mind would wonder to how he could possibly call that flop.the only thing that helped me was large quantities of alchohol (6-9 beers a night every night), and getting laid if i could get it up.if i was sober i'd meditate as much as possible.this is probably bad advice but it's the best i can do. Pick the game you are most clueless about and start from square one at a somewhat meaningless limit. Treat the new game like when you first started playing LHE, analyzing to death each hand, odds, position, posting hands, etc.. Maybe this will take your mind off things and get your mind straight as to why you got serious about poker in the first place. For this to work, you really shouldn't play ONE SINGLE HAND OF HOLDEM!!!!!! No LHE, NLHE, or donkaments.Other than that, I got nothin'. Link to post Share on other sites

navybuttons 15 Posted March 10, 2007 Share Posted March 10, 2007 I've never played LO8.That's your game of choice, right?Is it very profitable?is this a joke? :)LO8 and PLO8 are probably the most profitable games you can possibly play. to clarify that, the best players at any level up to probably 10/20 LO8 run about 2.5/BB (this is pure speculation)in no other game are the weak so exploited by the strong. not only are they profitable relative to stakes they have a super low variance. if you recall before zach, i spoke of how i went broke when i was just about to try and go pro (all LO8). i started that bad downswing w/ 125BB (i thought i could get away w/ it) and my graph during the downswing looked way worse than yours. you ran bad for longer so i don't quite know how that feels, but there are small upswings in your graph and mine would look like the downslope of the matterhorn. i can't recall how many times i had it all on the turn and nothing on the river in $400-$1300 pots.but i really believe 200BB is enough. 300BB is an overkill for any live game (up to probably 100/200 when it gets spread) or any online game up to 5/10.if you're serious i'll ship you ray zee's book (the LO8 bible) and you'll have it in your hands by next wed. and you can AIM me: navybuttons00we'll have you from near busto to robusto by the end of march (I ABSOLUTELY ****ING SWEAR you could be at $3000 by the end of march with O8) Link to post Share on other sites

She wants out.Can you imagine what an asshole she must think I am to want to get out after the hardest part is done?I'm still in disbelief. Our agent quit. Who quits on clients? I don't know if any of your local casinos spread it, but if they do, show up and play it. Basically navybuttons made all of the relevant points, but I just wanted to add my perspective, as a person who is completely new to the game (I have read the section in SS2 and Ray Zee's book, I recommend both) but can recognize the incredible potential, especially live. iggymcfly 0 Posted March 12, 2007 Share Posted March 12, 2007 If you're looking at others' problems to make you feel better, I think I can beat that, although my problems are from being a jackass instead of from running bad.On February 7th, my net worth was at an all time high, ~$70,000.On March 2nd, I had about $15,000 in cash and I was the chipleader with 3 tables left in a tournament where the equity of my tournament chips was worth another $35,000 or so.Today, my net worth is negative (not even counting student loans, just personal debt and my credit card), and all I have to rebuild from is $1,500 or so on Bodog.On the bright side, I am up $300-$400 since I started rebuilding online. Olay!Half of it was playing this one guy who sucked major *** heads up in AP's 15/20 game. 15/20? Yeah... the blinds are 10/15, but the betting rounds are 10/20. Some weird glitch in their software makes all of the 10/20HU tables like that. When you raise your sb (10) it raises to 20. The bb is 15, and so you only have to call 5 more.If you 3bet, it raises it to 25 total. Which means the sb only has to call 5 more. Basically, if you ever fold preflop, you're a tool. First when I was too stupid to lay down AA on a QQQXX board even though I knew she had quads and I was being a payoff monkey letting her felt me, and then again when KK<88 all-in on an 8-high flop, where even as I was pushing my money into the pot I made sure I had a few singles to tip the valet with on my way out the door. I seem to do very well in the 3-5 200 max games and get crushed every time I move up so maybe now I'll take the hint and stay where I belong. Link to post Share on other sites

First time going since I started taking poker seriously , been there once before. I'll get to watch the first couple of days of the 50K HORSE event, to boot. I'll be sure to schedule a meeting with DN to discuss the future of the Strat forums, if I'm not too busy. I've never gone on a vacation solo before, but I'm still looking forward to it. Maybe I'll be able to drag one of my degenerate friends there, but it won't be easy (their wives are -EV). Now I just need to drop 20-25lbs so I don't look like a beached whale poolside.
