RiverSense 0
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is SB with J, T. 2 folds, CO calls, Button calls, Hero completes, BB raises, CO calls, Button calls, Hero calls.Flop: (8 SB) 9, Q, A(4 players)Hero checks, BB bets, CO calls, Button folds, Hero calls.Turn: (5.50 BB) 8(3 players)Hero checks, BB bets, CO calls, Hero raises, BB calls, CO calls.River: (11.50 BB) 8(3 players)Hero bets, BB calls, CO raises, Hero... Final Pot: 23.50 BBThis hand may be more simple than I think but I thought it was pretty interesting. I didn't think CO would play a set like he did, he might have had a gutshot and made running trips or made a weird running boat but I would think if he made even two pair on the turn he would raise. I thought about both calling and raising. If I just called, I will get the call from the BB as I'm pretty sure he has a weak ace, he called me down on a similar hand when I made flush and he looked me up with A4 (top pair no kicker in that hand) earlier in the session. By raising I may knock the BB out but he does call down often and if my straight is good I get an extra bet from CO, if he is full obviously I lose two extra bets when he caps as he most likely will.Thoughts appreciated. CoranMoran 0
Based on your read of BB being a loose caller...If you are ahead:You gain 1 bet by calling (from BB overcalling)You gain 1 bet by raising (from CO - because surely BB will fold when he is faced with 2 more raises)If you are behind:You lose 1 bet by callingYou lose 2 bets by raisingBased on this logic, calling the river is your best option.--CM
mikeysong 0
i'm raising the only hand I can really give him credit for is j10. If you know he's not the type to slowplay a set to the river, I'm definitely capping. I really think set or two pair shows strength on the turn. More often than not, you GOOD!
