If you think the taj is beautiful you should really consider heading over to the borgata, it will blow your mind.
akoff 0
“AC is dirty.” No kidding the town is dirt poor outside of the casinosWhen I visited there the boardwalk was garbage” The boardwalk is ok I have never know it to be real dirty but nothing to write home about. “The people were mean” I have been going to AC for 17 years and seldom have I met mean people…sounds like your from Iowa or something.“and it was cold” No sh!t the mid Atlantic states cold…were you wearing a skirt? Try the freakin summer time“The only good this was the Taj. Beautiful casino” The Taj is a not in the top 3 in Atlantic city…it maybe 5 or even 6th. They do have a fine poker room even if it is dirty…at least that is what everyone including me seems to agree upon. If you had gone to the Borgota and said it was awesome you would be correct, the trop is a neat little poker room…are you sure you were in town?hope you enjoyed your stay

ukwildcat09 0
Don't go doing something crazy like bringing reason and logic into a half-assed comment.sw...since it seems to be missing everywhere else.Boardwalk - seems like all the food places and shops were just run down and poor. Cold - I went there in July and it was overcast and cold. Weather will affect how you look at something.Taj - the outside architecture was amazing to me.And yes, I am from the Midwest and think people in AC and NYC are generally far more mean then where I am from. I just don't understand how that city can be so poor around the casinos. You'd think developers would come in and tear down the old houses and build new apartments. My 2 cents. My 2 cents.Few general things to note:- Seasonal towns along the East coast(like AC Boardwalk and rest of Jersey Shore in summer) tend to close early in bad weather. Probably shut down due to poor weather.- Every day can't be perfect. It's alright though, I tell people the Borgata is terrible because one time I was having a bad session there and the only unattractive waitress in the casino was serving my table, so I couldn't even ogle anyone while I got terrible cards(sw). - The outside of the Taj looks amazing? From that I'm inferring you didn't go inside any of the casinos, and judging by your user-name, you're graduating in 2009 and therefore under 21. You bashed a city and casino area that you weren't even old enough to utilize. You can bash and stereotype an entire area and group of people if you want, nothing stopping you. You're just illustrating your own ignorance. Have a good day, and maybe entertain the idea that you can't judge an area from one trip through it.PS: Cbass, apologies for hijacking your thread with this.

Seems you don't know what that word means. It means lack of knowledge. When expressing an opinion about a city, facts of it aren't needed. Maybe if we were discussing the population density or per capita income, then we'll talk knowledge. I simply said that I didn't like what I say. I'm sure you don't like some areas of the country you have been to. Whether it's the people, buildings, or weather. Saying that I can't utilize the city yet???? What does that mean? You sound like an idiot. You meant to say that I can't gamble at the AC casinos yet. Ah yes, now it clicks. Yes, I did go in the other casinos. I didn't like them. No, I didn't go in to all of them either. From the casinos I have seen and been in, I believe the Taj is nice. It's my opinion once again. Call me ignorant if you want to make yourself feel better. And yes, I can judge the area in one trip. How many more poor people, bad houses, and illegal immigrants do you need to see to get a bad feeling about something? That's my opinion. P.S. Thanks for making my day, you made me realize that their are people with fewer things to do then me.Edit - It's funny now that I look at your info brabz. You are from New Jersey? Strange. My 2 cents.I was there on Independence Day weekend - my first trip. I walked along the boardwalk and sat on the beach for a while. A family had parked themselves fairly near to where I was perched on a pallet near the windfence. Within a half-hour, they'd introduced themselves, offered me a beer, gave me some sunscreen. Their kids were playing in the water and running back and forth. I spent more than an hour with them - just a local family.I agree - the people there are mean.I walked up the casino boardwalk, and it was exactly what I expected; hot dogs, carnival atmosphere, a tad seedy (but isn't that just right?).Taj; boring, although the poker room was OK - kind of a pilgramage. I played there for about 3 hours.Borgata; brand-spanking new. Nice hotel, gorgeous poker room. I found the chips a bit slippery, and the room was enormous, but a great experience. Aside from a couple of short sessions, I played the rest of my stay there.AC isn't perfect, but I had a great time.

7s7c 0
I'm there about 20 hrs/wk and have walked the boardwalk at all hours of the night with or without a stack and never had a problem. Don't hate. Participate.PS: I plan on playing a 10pm-8am shift at Borgata on Sat if any FCPers wanna holla.
CBass1724 1
Yeah I don't necessarily go to AC for the scenery or to meet new friends. I go with my own friends to gamble, play poker, and have a great time. All the other stuff is just not a big deal to me. Yes the boardwalk is dirty and seems poor, but if you don't like it then don't go out there. AC in general is poor and not a nice area, but it is getting better. There are lots of rude NY/NJ know-it-all, jerks there. They don't bother me because I just laugh at them because they try to act like mobsters with their fake jewelry and their attitude. If they were so tough, they wouldn't be playing 1-2nl and 2-4 limit.Anyway, I don't care what is up there...as long as their are casinos and mobney being passed around, I'm there in a heartbeat.I will be up there March 8th and 9th to play in the $500 buy in at Caesars, anybody else going?? It just makes you look annoying.Have you ever seen the neighborhoods outlying the Strip in Vegas? Crime in general is much worse in the LV area. AC just doesn't have an analog to Henderson and Summerlin in affluent suburbs of its own.

Also have to find that happy medium between classes and work, lol. Cbass, this is random, but were you playing in the Trop in early, mid-September with a bunch of your friends still in the nightly tourney? I was play 1-2, and there was a pretty chill younger guy from Virginia on my left who convinced me to started bumping FP to 5-6 bucks each time to loosen up the game. Very enjoyable session, and the guy seemed to be knowledgeable enough about the game that I assumed he read some sort of forum. Just thought it would be funny to find out; still haven't run into Tre in the Trop, but figure it's very possible to have run into another FCP poster.

I was thinking about playing the $515+55 mega satellite but that seems like so much of a crapshoot with the blinds structure. Check out the structures of all the tourneys here: Caesars WSOP Circuit
brabz 0
Yeah, that's why I like the look of the $65+15 Mega. Crapshoot, but not terribly expensive. If I get bumped, at least I can go play some cash games, and if I advance, I'm getting great value from my buy-in.
