AC is dirty. When I visisted there the boardwalk was garbage, the people were mean, and it was cold. The only good this was the Taj. Beautiful casino.

Boardwalk - seems like all the food places and shops were just run down and poor. Cold - I went there in July and it was overcast and cold. Weather will affect how you look at something.Taj - the outside architecture was amazing to me.And yes, I am from the Midwest and think people in AC and NYC are generally far more mean then where I am from. I just don't understand how that city can be so poor around the casinos. You'd think developers would come in and tear down the old houses and build new apartments. My 2 cents.

You bashed a city and casino area that you weren't even old enough to utilize.You can bash and stereotype an entire area and group of people if you want, nothing stopping you. You're just illustrating your own ignorance. I was there on Independence Day weekend - my first trip. I walked along the boardwalk and sat on the beach for a while. A family had parked themselves fairly near to where I was perched on a pallet near the windfence. Within a half-hour, they'd introduced themselves, offered me a beer, gave me some sunscreen. Their kids were playing in the water and running back and forth. I spent more than an hour with them - just a local family.I agree - the people there are mean.I walked up the casino boardwalk, and it was exactly what I expected; hot dogs, carnival atmosphere, a tad seedy (but isn't that just right?).Taj; boring, although the poker room was OK - kind of a pilgramage. I played there for about 3 hours.Borgata; brand-spanking new. Nice hotel, gorgeous poker room. I found the chips a bit slippery, and the room was enormous, but a great experience. Aside from a couple of short sessions, I played the rest of my stay there.AC isn't perfect, but I had a great time.

I'm there about 20 hrs/wk and have walked the boardwalk at all hours of the night with or without a stack and never had a problem. Don't hate. Participate.PS: I plan on playing a 10pm-8am shift at Borgata on Sat if any FCPers wanna holla.

Yeah I don't necessarily go to AC for the scenery or to meet new friends. I go with my own friends to gamble,play poker, and have a great time. All the other stuff is just not a big deal to me. Yes the boardwalk is dirty and seems poor, but if you don't like it then don't go out there. AC in general is poor and not a nice area, but it is getting better.There are lots of rude NY/NJ know-it-all, jerks there. They don't bother me because I just laugh at them because they try to act like mobsters with their fake jewelry and their attitude. If they were so tough, they wouldn't be playing 1-2nl and 2-4 limit.Anyway, I don't care what is up there...as long as their are casinos and mobney being passed around, I'm there in a heartbeat.I will be up there March 8th and 9th to play in the $500 buy in at Caesars, anybody else going??

If you want New Yorkers to be nice to you, stop asking us where you can buy a bong in the Village just to look cool. It just makes you look annoying.Have you ever seen the neighborhoods outlying the Strip in Vegas? Crime in general is much worse in the LV area. AC just doesn't have an analog to Henderson and Summerlin in affluent suburbs of its own.

Yeah, that's why I like the look of the $65+15 Mega. Crapshoot, but not terribly expensive. If I get bumped, at least I can go play some cash games, and if I advance, I'm getting great value from my buy-in.
