After the 1st read through, I thought you had AJ and called the river and I'm thinking, that can't be profitable...On 2nd inspection, nice hand :5c

I am one of the infamous New Challenge lurkers, having read it from its inception. I have always been focused on PLO, but I am interested in playing more live poker, thus I am starting off at the bottom in NL 6max to develop my game. Hopefully I can contribute to keeping this thread alive as it's certainly the best poker thread I've ever read. In any event, to start things off, here's a 550BB pot I played tonight - any comments on the flop play?PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (6 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comCO ($27.55)Button ($3.65)Hero (SB) ($32.40)BB ($16.15)UTG ($1.50)MP ($9.60)Preflop: Hero is SB with 5diamond.gif, 7diamond.gif1 fold, MP calls $0.10, CO bets $0.30, Button calls $0.30, Hero calls $0.25, 2 foldsFlop: ($1.10) 7heart.gif, 5club.gif, 2heart.gif(3 players)Hero bets $0.60, CO raises to $1.40, 1 fold, Hero raises to $5, CO calls $3.60Turn: ($11.10) 5spade.gif(2 players)Hero bets $10, CO calls $10River: ($31.10) 6club.gif(2 players)Hero bets $13, CO calls $12.25 (All-In)Total pot: $55.60 | Rake: $2.70Results in white below: Hero had 5diamond.gif, 7diamond.gif (full house, fives over sevens).CO mucked Aclub.gif, Adiamond.gif (two pair, Aces and fives).Outcome: Hero won $52.90

Very nice :)I'm more inclined to check the flop there as we've flopped super well against a PF raiser and we're likely to get more money out of them from them cbetting rather than folding to a donk. It also balances out range for when we whiff in that spot (unless you've been donking a lot). I'd probably bet less on the turn (closer to say $8) and then more on the river because we basically have the nuts and the better price they get the better (and the pot will still be big enough that they basically have to call the river). That said, a lot of that is just nitpicking and my personal preference, wp :club:

Thank you for the thoughts - I was hoping for some higher level discussion even though it's $10NL and most villains are just mashing buttons :club: The primary reason I decided to lead out was because the board was so draw heavy and I thought a donk would look like I was trying to draw cheap, or betting something like A7. Perhaps I was giving the villain too much credit as I was hoping this would occur to him as well. In any case, I'll try to mix this up with the line you detailed.

This guy comes from a PLO background so I assume that donking would be more natural for him. As long as he donks flush draws and such when he reaches a level where people notice that the little holes on the side of the shoes are where the laces go in, he should be fine.I agree with betting less on the turn.

Like fighter said, if you are donking with draws too, it's fine. And it looks like you've thought it through :ts

and really just a ton of lol.i'll have stories later I suppose.just an lol player tho at 10/20 today (i only lost 1.4k to him (was down like 8k at one point); but he won 24k on his sesh against two others)...I'll briefly talk about him, but not my entire day.So I'm sitting and he joins my table. It's a new sn on the site so I play him. He imm. starts 3betting and betting and raising in all these lol spots. I'm just like, wow, haven't played someone this aggressive since 2007 and he is jsut lol bad.All of this is true, but goodness my, he had a horeshoe up his ass. He played myslef, mastrblastr (who is vgood), and someother guy i don't really know.He maintained a 3bet % of 30% the entire time, on all 3 tables. He would hardly ever fold to 4bets, <20% of the time, and he seemed to love hitting flops in 4bet pots and crai. Color me pink, but it was lol.At one point I was down a bunch to him, but I kept my cool and really wasn't that worried considering I know someone with that style is high variance and really the only way they can beat you long term is if you don't make good adjustments, if you tilt, and if they run really fking hot. Not tilting is key, and I managed to not do that.I was watching mastr play and the other guy and mastr really just took the worse of it. The guy's Fold to 3bet was <15%. Meaning, he was calling 3bets like 85% of the time and just superrrrrrrr sticky. He managed in a span of like 5 hands to stack mastr 3x. All these pots occured 100bb deep and every time was just like, that's a super leak pre, but I think mastr was slightly tilted, so that prob didn't help that the guy flopped/turned/or rivered the nuts every time against him.I was pretty happy to fight thru it though and not lose a lot. I really hope to play him again before he goes busto or gets better. He def. seems to play poker regularly but just unwilling to adapt or change his game. I really honestly haven't played with someone that wreckless, that seemed to have an idea of what they were doing, since like 06 or 07. And it's not to say that someone who doesn't play "correctly" is bad at poker...but this guy had just so many glaring holes in his game it was laughable.he basically was relying on flopping hands in 3bet or 4bet pots where he could A) check/jam B) call two streets, maybe 3 with a weak made hand C) get there and D) suck out with < 20% equity.Like I said I thought I handled him really well and don't mind losing. It was just real lol to actually sit there and see him calling 3bets and 4bets iwth any two over and over and over again, and magically winning pots he had no business in.Anyways, I may post more about my day. Most of included being hit and ran probably the most in a single day that I ever have. Including 3x at 25/50 which prob came to about 7k of my losses anyways. So nice life there.Ship the like, 2k month. loooooooool agtrgy- Jordan
