i am so frustrated. nothing has gone right for the 3rd sesh in a row. i think im better off just cashing out instead of playing sessions, that way when the money disappears from my account, it shows up at my house a couple days later instead of in someone else's account. ugh.

How rolled are you for your level? It's really not uncommon to have 3 losing sessions in a row. I lost like 12 out of 14 at one point in September. Take a few days off and review hands and determine whether you are a winner at your level. If you are, use that notion to drive your confidence.

I'm pretty sure you keep leveling me :club:
It's pretty hard to level when you show a one day +14 buyin graph.BTW, was it just a response to me playing like 50/40 or do the games really play that aggro all the time? I think it had a lot to do with your playing style.Or they're both mentally handicapped. Both are possible.

My problem isn't getting villains to do absolutely stupid things against me. My problem is actually winning when they do.Yesterday I got a guy to stick it in with 66 on a Q93dd flop for 130BB where I was the pre-flop raiser and c-bet/3-bet the flop. He sticks it in, finds out he's in his absolute best case scenario where he's only a 55/45 dog to my AdKd and of course I whiff and he rivers a boat. Then this morning:Full Tilt Poker $0.50/$1 No Limit Hold'em - 5 playersThe Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History ConverterHero (BTN): $102.40SB: $218.70BB: $23.65UTG: $162.95CO: $108.10Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is BTN with A :club: K :tsUTG raises to $3, CO calls $3, Hero raises to $13.50, 1 fold, BB raises to $23.65 all in, 2 folds, Hero calls $10.15Flop: ($53.80) J :qh 7 :5c 9 :qhTurn: ($53.80) J :3hRiver: ($53.80) 8 :DFinal Pot: $53.80Hero shows A :D K :D (a pair of Jacks)BB shows T :4h K :D (a straight, Jack high)BB wins $51.15(Rake: $2.65)It's getting really ****ing old already.[x] skill wins in the long run[ ] one hand is a long run[?] psujohn will prevail

Semi gross spot from today's session. I'm looking for some insightful discussion on this one, so please no one sentence responses. Notice the stack sizes. Comments on preflop are welcome as well. Villain is slightly tight, though he does have a tendency to get overaggressive, yet today he generally showed up with big hands and I didn't notice much out of the ordinary. His stats today were 17/11, but he's closer to an 18/14 overall. There's not too much history with him this session other than when I raised KJo on the button, he flatted SB (BB called as well) and check raised a J83 rainbow from 30 to 99, checked a 5 turn, and bet 2/3 pot on an 8 river. He showed 33.What line would you take in this situation here? How would you choose to proceed with the hand.Edit: news*** is the button here. Not sure why it said he was the SB. Cake's hand histories are buggy.POKERSTARS GAME #667011477001532: HOLD'EM NO LIMIT ($2/$4) - 2008/10/28 - 19:34:30 (ET)Table 'Cake_ Amsterdam (6-max) 11477' Seat #9 is the buttonSeat 2: Hero ($1,230.80 in chips)Seat 3: on_y*** ($410.00 in chips)Seat 8: 100p*** ($817.05 in chips)Seat 9: The*** ($142.00 in chips)Seat 10: news*** ($921.70 in chips)Hero: posts big blind $4*** HOLE CARDS ***Dealt to Hero [Qd Qc]on_y***: folds100p***: foldsThe***: foldsnews***: raises $8.00 to $12.00Hero: raises $40.00 to $52.00news***: calls $40.00*** FLOP *** [2c 9h 7h]Hero: bets $72.00news***: raises $205.00 to $277.00Hero?
I just played this hand (+posted it in NL strat), which is very similar:Absolute Poker $100.00 No Limit Hold'em - 5 playersThe Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History ConverterCO: $122.73BTN: $333.30Hero (SB): $213.15BB: $212.90UTG: $233.75Pre Flop: ($1.50) Hero is SB with T :ts T :club:2 folds, BTN raises to $3.50, Hero raises to $12.50, 1 fold, BTN calls $9Flop: ($26.00) Q :D 5 :D 3 :4h(2 players)Hero bets $17.00, BTN raises to $38Villain is 28/21 and a solid winner over a huge sample: http://www.tableratings.com/overview/speeedlimitsIt feels like he plays somewhat similarly to me preflop (I'm usually about 30/23ish), but I don't know how he plays postflop (I have ~4k datamined hands, but I don't think I've played with him before). I would make that flop raise with a massive range, and I'm assuming he will as well.Anyone have any thoughts on the differences between the hands, or how you would play them?I really feel like bet/folding this flop is -EV, but c/c c/c seems wrong too and bet/calling puts in a lot of money with no idea of villain's range. I can't find a line I like.

i think c/c is fine, hard to say what he is raising...he can't have a ton of hands he is in love with so 3betting is never horrible. I think calling/re-eval is ok, as well is folding if you think he follows up turn a lot and youre going to just fold if he bets.nice graph, king.nice 95, simo.:club:- Jordan
