Did you Stove that 42diamonds hand against some ranges Rdog? That seems like a tough spot.
I haven't yet. Was hoping to get some feedback first. And yes, it was a really tough spot......here is my chat.rdog7811 said, "wtffffffffffff"

Some monstrous fish has absolutely obliterated me the last 2 days.
I've been playing a bit with tableratings and noticed that the 5 guys who've won the most money off of me are all losing players. I consider this a good thing. That site's pretty cool and I think it's gaining popularity - which is unfortunate. I saw a couple guys smack talking today and one referenced the other being down 2K in 1800 hands and I looked on tableratings and that's exactly what it said about him. It's also interesting to look and see how many guys are essentially newbies having only played for a day or two at least under that name on that site.

It doesn't track below 100NL, right?

Big diamond, any pair and a diamond, 2 pair, straights, sets, pair plus straight draw, and probably top pair. In other words, I don't think he is worried much about me.

So why is so worried about shutting you out? Or is he trying to rope you in? hmmmmm

PerpelxingI'd say he more than likely has a 9d10d hand and the other guy has the ace of diamonds. I can't imagine him showing up with a set too often, but I guess it's in there. When you Stove stuff is there any way to weigh more likely possibilities or are they all weighted equally?

Not really. There are ways you can try to weight it but never in the correct way.

Well I mean, the only thing that is obvious is that he doesn't have the Ace high flush or the straight flush. Other than those hands, anything he would call with, he probably wants to shove (non nut or ace, king high flushes, straights, sets).

Brett, serious question. Why do you always put a dollar-figure on it? Wouldn't it be easier to say "I lost two buyins today?"When you start to think of it in terms of real money and dollars, it makes it much more mentally harder to overcome and get out of a downswing. I know damn well you are plenty overrolled and it isn't affecting your bottom line, and it sucks, but if you see it as "I lost two buyins," it really isn't THAT bad. "Losing 1300" just makes it seem so much worse.
I do see it as buy-ins. Obviously I can't list as buy-ins because I'm spreading different limits. Losing 3 buy-ins isn't a big deal. The fact that I've lost about 12 out of my last 16 sessions IS a big deal. Losing 3-4 buy-ins every day adds up a TON. Every single day I've said to myself, "It's only 2-3 buy-ins." In fact, that's what I told myself after my session today. But when you tell yourself that every day, it becomes a big deal. I actually haven't had a day this month where I've lost more than 4 buy-ins (even in my -2.3k day, I was down almost 3 buy-ins at 5/10 and up a small amount at 2/4 and 3/6). Adding them all together is just extremely frustrating though.Edit: I am fortunate that I've played around 4k-5k hands at 5/10 this month and I'm actually positive there so I consider that to be a bright side. But then I look and see I'm down 25 buy-ins or so at the other limits (I'm not sure the exact amount, I'm using a school computer right now), and it frustratings.

Ok, enough debate about who's fat or not (the more cushion, the better the pushin'). Here's a bunch of stats comparing my big upswing to my current downswing. Any and all feedback will be appreciated. Don't hold anything back. I can take it, but don't just say "you're getting killed in non-sd pots". I already know that. Give me some input on why I'm getting killed in non-sd pots. What's changed, etc. If you'd like me to post anything else, certain filters, etc, let me know.
Sorry for the delay responding to this.bullanalysis-1.pngOk, I've highlighted pretty much every noticeable difference with your two samples, some of which are more important than others.1) Won $ at Showdown %This is pretty huge. Running good/bad can explain at least some of this, but a near 5 point drop overall is very significant. I actually think in a vacuum that 57% is too high in the first place, and that 52% is absolutely fine, but it's the drop that's the important factor, and that shows on the graphs too. You were profitable with 57%, and you aren't with 52%.On its own though, it's hard to say where the problem is. All this stat gives is some possibles. It could be that you're value betting thinner in the wrong areas, it could be you're paying off too much, it could be that you're bluffing more often. It could be an endless run of coolers. The one thing you can take from this is that it's happening across pretty much all positions. This indicates that it's not caused by a change in positional priorities. You aren't playing differently from anywhere specific. It is your overall style that has caused it. If it was you playing more hands from the BB and losing a ton of showdowns there, that would be an instant fix. As it is, it seems there's something more fundamental that has happened.2) River AggressionThis doesn't look too significant at first glance, but I think it could highlight something. Overall I think it's a better trend to have AF decreasing from flop to river, but the fact that your river AF has decreased could indicate that you are calling too often, not bluffing enough, and not value betting often enough (opting to c/c rather than b/f in the wrong spots).I think overall your AF is pretty low for how TAG you are. Generally speaking the tighter you are preflop the higher your AF should be, and the looser you are the lower your AF should be. Your overall AF of 2.5 would be pretty low even for a loose player. I think you should be shooting for something like 3.5, or maybe a touch higher.3) Fold F/T/R with trips.I don't really know why these numbers are different, but I just highlighted pretty much everything that was noticable. It may be just sample variance tbh, but a drop from folding 9% to folding 3% seems pretty big over 258 and 1119 samples. It looks like recently you just aren't laying down big hands as often when you know you're beaten. Previously you were folding with trips a decent % of the time, and you were winning showdowns a lot more often. Again, part of this will be due to running good/bad, but you might want to look back over some of those hands.4) Fold T/R with High CardFor some reason you are putting money in postflop with high card more often. Once again, this isn't particularly well defined though (can't read a lot into it), so it would be useful to filter more extensively to see what specifically has changed. I think it could be indicative of an overall change in your play, even if it perhaps isn't the problem itself. As a general point, large non SD losses are (quite obviously) caused by putting too much money into pots and then folding too often. In this case, you are folding high card hands significantly less often on the turn and river. The odd thing is that your WtSD and W$SD aren't really affected. I can only assume this means you have either started bluffing more or calling with draws more, but I don't really know for sure. Whatever change has occurred, it hasn't been a positive one. You aren't losing much more specifically with high card, but it hasn't improved your game. 5) Won $ at Showdown % with 2 pair or betterThis is pretty blatant. It would certainly suggest that you're running bad in terms of coolers as well as the generic 'allin luck graph' type running bad. Dropping from over 94% to under 76% with flushes is massive. TBH it says that you were running insanely well over the early period (although the WtSD figure shows that you seemed to be folding flushes more often when you knew you were beat). It's something you might want to look at in more detail, but the next two factors are a lot more significant. Most people play big hands fairly well, and your winnings aren't too much different from before. 6) One PairPlaying one pair is tough. This is really where you need to filter through your hands. Scaling the hand total up in the first sample gives us a figure of about -$2550. In the second sample you lost twice as much. You lost $2500 (50 buyins!) more in the second sample with one pair. Even though your stats seem fairly similar, it's clear there is a major problem there. It could be that you are paying off too lightly, not value betting well enough, etc. It could be any of a number of things, but it's something that will take quite a bit of searching to find. You need to filter for one pair hands, and then look closely to see what areas you are losing money with. Look at your stats and graphs, then go deeper and check overpairs (that should be very profitable), check TPTK, check TPWK. Filter for middle pair, or underpairs, anything like that. You can go as deep as you like with it. Filter for one pair hands where you've raised preflop. Filter for where you've called preflop and hit top pair or middle pair. You see where I'm going with this. It's far too generic a problem for me to help with looking at these stats as they are. 7) Two PairYou're folding more often on all streets, you're getting to showdown less often, you're winning the pot less often, and you're winning showdowns less often. The biggest thing though is that proportionately (multiplying the hands numbers up) you would be up $3500 in the first sample compared to being down $940 in the second. This really is something you need to look at in some depth. Filter out two pair hands, and then filter in the same way as I mentioned above to try and see if there is a pattern. Which two pair hands do you lose the most with? Is it an overpair with a paired board? Bottom two? See if you pay off a lot with two pair when draws hit. Just try to spot trends. See if you are value betting correctly on the turn. As I said for one pair hands, I can't really help any further. All that I can do is see that there seems to be a problem. I can't tell you where it is without actually spending time analysing your database personally. As a general overview of your playing stats, I really think you are too tight. 18/14 at 6max is leaving money on the table, and passing up too many profitable opportunities. 3betting with 4% of hands is pretty weak, and it suggests that you almost never 3bet light. I think bumping that up to something like 6% would really help with a lot of problems. Squeezing in position at times is very profitable, and I'm pretty sure you aren't doing it enough. I've already said I'd like to see your AF increased across the board. I think you are playing too passively for how tight you are, and that is probably causing some of your somewhat excessive non SD losses. One of the biggest things I'd like to see you change is specifically your very low button VPIP and PFR. You don't need to increase your overall stats too much, but I think on the button you should be at least 26/22ish, if not 30/25 or more. 3betting a little more in position would help facilitate this. This is also something that would allow you to stop the non SD bleeding.I think one thing that could definitely help a lot is if you could filter for final pot size. Seeing a graph of <10bb pots and <40bb pots, and >10bb and >40bb pots would really help to analyse where your losses and winnings come from. Not sure if you can do this in PT3, but you can do it in PokerEV if you can get the hands to a PT2 database. My game for example, I make almost all my money from small pots, and I'm pretty much breakeven in the larger pots. I would expect you to lose quite a lot in small pots, but make up for it in the larger pots. I think the problem will be that you're losing too much in the very small pots.As I say though, it's difficult for me to give much more advice without direct access to your database and filters. It seems like you have a leak in playing one and two pair hands, but trying to find where involves more than just basic screenshots.(One final thing I'd like to clarify, just in case this analysis maybe gets misunderstood, and it's something that's been discussed a lot. Losing money in non SD pots is fine. Losing a TON in non SD pots though is a problem. It's not a case of stopping all losses. It's a case of stopping the unnecessary losses.)

Simo mentioned it a couple times and I think a ton of people have big problems with it but I bet you are not getting enough value when you have best hand Bull. Just about every strategy post you see is about whether you should call when a lot of your profits is going to come from value betting correctly. Bull, go through hands YOU WON and find some hands where you checked the river that you are unsure about and post those. I bet we find in quite a few spots that you aren't betting when you probably should be.Edit: Also, not value betting well would also explain your extremely high W$SD.
