I'm definitely not laggy...although I do tend to move chips around a lot and feel like I get people to commit their stacks against me when they normally wouldn't, and I'm kind of a sissy post flop. (like, I fold overpairs to shoves like my life depended on it)PT says:VPIP 24%PFR 17%overall AF 2.5Flop AF 3.4Turn AF 1.5River AF 1.7I'm happy with where my vpip and pfr are, but I'm desperately trying to get my turn and river AF's higher. Well, I tried a much more LAG style today, and I don't think that my image matters much. I didn't get much more action on big hands than I normally would playing like a rock.Couple very ugly hands, AK on board of AA3, get QQ to push in, Turn 5, River Q. Also, got it in with AA vs. KK and lost. Lost two races too with AK vs. JJ and two overs and flush draw to overpair. I made a couple bad bluff attempts, including firing preflop, on the flop, turn, and river with 55 on an A high board, called all the way by AT. Also had a couple hands where they were thankfully against shorties, including flopped flush against flopped higher flush. Just one of those days where I'm not gonna win.741 hands today, down $310.65.I know that I had some real bad luck today, but I think I'm just gonna go back to being super-rock.Total so far: 1263 hands, up $97.70.Bankroll: $1097.70

Wow I might not make the goal if I keep playing as shitty as I did tonight. Made countless mistakes for stacks, so disgusting and embarrassing.Gotta grind haaaaaaaard this week.

May I thread-jack this and ask how much counting the specific stats that everyone does helps your overall game?I've been playing for about 3 years (only about 2 years live) and have been a consistent winner as of the last year or so... (not nearly to the level described in this thread... think of a very average/modest rate and that's probably where I am at). I have done a lot over the years to plug tons of leaks in my game and as time goes by the leaks are smaller and smaller issues. When everyone started running these programs and seeing these extremely definitive details, did it really show massive issues with your game that you don't think you would have otherwise seen? Is there an example where these programs might not actually help certain players?A helpful answer would be pleasant and then back to this wonderful thread topic.Great to see how this is working out for different players!

I think everyone is different, but PT has been very helpful for me. A couple of examples: After my first 8 or so months playing poker, I was a net loser with AK. So clearly I was doing something wrong with it when I wasn't making money with one of the best hands in poker. And like I said in my previous post, I feel like my turn aggression factor is very low compared to others who play how I do and have otherwise similar stats. So I'm focusing right now on looking for value in hands on the turn and river that I might not normally have gotten.I also like it for what it tells me about my opponents and their playing style.Mark

Whenever I am HU with AK, and the turn pairs the board, I throw my beer bottle as hard as I can into my opponents left temple.I have yet to lose with that hand. :club:

Its not a huge sample, but yeah, you are playing pretty tight. I'm guessing that you don't 3bet much preflop since your pf raise % is almost half of what your vpip is. Why don't you play a session where you either raise or fold pf, and never call. And just see how that feels?Mark
