So are double or triple FTP points worth anything if you have rakeback? If you use the points it comes out of your rakeback right? I can never figure out how double points, iron man, deposit bonus and rakeback all interact.

Spending points takes from rakeback at a rate of $0.005/point, I think. The more points you get, the higher your Ironman status, and thus bonus you receive.Deposit bonus I'm not sure :)Hope that offers some help, anyways :club:

If you have rakeback, points allow you to buy items for essentially 27% of retail. So for instance, lets say an iPod is 70K points. So in Tilts eyes the 'retail' value is 70K X .005 = $350. That $350 comes out of your total rake, meaning you don't get rakeback on it, so you lose the 27% you would have made from it in rakeback. So essentially you are paying $350 X .27 = $110 or so for a $350 iPod.Mark

A 32gb iPod Touch is $460 on Amazon, and is 105,000 points in the Tilt store, which is $525. So it probably goes of 'original' retail price or whatever. But in reality that iPod would 'cost' me $142 in real money because of the hit to my rakeback. So its still a smoking deal.Mark

So, I am pretty excited about this and wanted to wait to post until I completed my goal and got my laptop backI posted 3 weeks ago asking what I should do with 65k vpp. Pokerstars was going to raise my vip level to buy something since I hadnt played in awhile.Well, I wound up buying the $650 vip bonus and subsequently depositing $600 with which to grind 50nl hoping to release said bonus without losing $600 in the process of trying to win $600.The main issues were: i hadn't played in awhile due to life things...good things of course, I play on a laptop (which crashed almost immediately into the grind), I've never been good at more than 4 tables, and my confidence was low. I decided to start out with 4-6 tables of 6-max 50nl and really my goal was to break even, release bonus, and withdraw money. I just hated the thought of 65k vpp going to waste.Well, I started playing and things were going pretty well. The game seemed pretty easy and I was able to get up to 8 tables on a 19" monitor with tons of overlap and do pretty well. Also, because of my laptop crash I didnt have access to PT. Which means I did most of it without using stats. This actually turned out to be somewhat of a blessing because as you will see on the graph, I was running like shit. At my low I was about 12 buy ins below equity and break even through ~9k hands. Fortunately, I didnt have PT/Pev to prove I was running poorly so I just assumed I was playing poorly and focused more.Once I got about 3/4 of the way my goal changed....I wanted to continue running at a pretty high ptbb and make enough to be rolled for 100nl by the time my bonus hit. I also wanted to become pretty proficient at around 8 tables so that I can play it at 100nl if I want. I also started thinking of long term goals.Earlier this spring I was playing 200nl pretty regularly. I own a very small start up business and withdrew regularly to help support myself. The problem with this was: I left myself no online roll. I told myself I would deposit if I needed to, but in the end I had a small downswing, and was running way too good in life to care about playing poker anymore. So I quit, but I had these fpp's looming over my head....oh the marketing genius that is the casino business. Now, here I am, I have earned the bonus wooooooooohoooooooooooooo. I achieved my goal of being rolled for 100nl by the end of the grind. Now, I get to set some new goals. So here they are:1) Achieve Platinum star this month for the first time! This is tough when juggling a girlfriend, a growing business, and friends.2) Grind 100Nl until I have 40 buyins for 200NL3) Don't withdraw until I have $10k!4) Achieve Supernova by the end of the year...this is pretty worthless right? 5) Drop down if I get below 16-18 buyins at a limit.6) Work on my leaks. I've got an idea of some of my leaks and I think my ptbb could be considerably higher if I could fix them. The most glaring is making crying calls.7) Get a monitor ... or two. That is all I can think of off the top of my head.Hopefully this is interesting to some of you grinders out there! Here is my graph for the 50nl grind to get my bonus!screenshot991459da2.png

Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (6 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.comBB ($50)UTG ($53.45)MP ($46.10)CO ($53.25)Hero (Button) ($50)SB ($51.60)Preflop: Hero is Button with 6 :ts, 6 :D1 fold, MP calls $0.50, CO raises to $2.25, Hero calls $2.25, 2 folds, MP calls $1.75Flop: ($7.50) 3 :D, 5 :club:, 4 :4h(3 players)MP checks, CO bets $5, Hero??Good spot to raise, or is it flat/fold?
I think the raise is fine. If this was UTG raiser with a caller, I doubt I would raise but the since the MP limped the CO could easily be isolating fish with weak hand. How tight/loose is CO?

It's posts like this that make this thread worth reading.Well done and good luck in crushing your revised goals (...except perhaps the Supernova goal... Juggling everything else in your life right now, I don't think you have a legitimate shot at this one happening in 3 months' time...)Thanks for bringing the thread back on track :club:
