babylondonks 5
I'm surprised that these have no love whatsoever, maybe I'm going crazy but I'll put my two cents in. The quicker I'm proven wrong the quicker I learn Okay, here is a gross spot I had this morning. MP is huge fish that calls 100% C Bets. BB is typical reg.....22/18/4 or so. This is why I think this spot is tough:1. It's a good spot to squeeze. I assume BB knows fish doesn't have much of a hand here and he knows I need a big hand to continue and he could do it with a random Jack that is still ahead of Fish's range. 2. He could be doing this with a weaker ace in hopes to isolate the fish.3. Knowing 1 and 2, AJ and 55 are both in his range. JJ, I think he probably squeezes in hopes to isolate the fish pre. A5 "might" be in his range but I'm not positive.4. Could be clubs combo type draw, QTcc, etc.Thoughts?PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (5 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)BB ($194)Hero ($477.50)MP ($274)Button ($39.50)SB ($37)Preflop: Hero is UTG with A, K. Hero raises to $8, MP calls $8, 2 folds, BB calls $6.Flop: ($25) J, A, 5(3 players)BB checks, Hero bets $16, MP calls $16, BB raises to $50, Hero ??BB raises to an odd amount really, he's giving us $34 to call in a $107 pot, which leads me to the conclusion of I don't know. I think he could be appearing with any kind of holding here. If BB knows that MP will probably fold to a raise, why give such enticing odds? Does he want us to think we're getting too good odds to call and imagine we're ahead? I really don't know. I think I'd put it in, but I'm a microstakes donk where this is A3o more often than not. The fact that BB checked the flop is either a weak holding wondering what we're going to bet or concealing strength. It's dependant on our own table image but I'm inclined to put it in here. And here is another one with another reg and one of the biggest fish I have ever seen. This hand puts me in the same boat as Villain was in my previous hand. UTG is 24 tabling 17/15 reg. SB is a huge fish that has shown a propensity to put a ton of money in the pot with less than stellar holdings. I want to raise here but if I get any action from UTG I am probably toast.PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)CO ($268.10)Button ($218.80)SB ($616.75)Hero ($246)UTG ($200)MP ($195)Preflop: Hero is BB with Q, A. UTG raises to $8, 1 fold, CO calls $8, 1 fold, SB calls $7, Hero calls $6.Flop: ($32) 8, 4, Q(4 players)SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets $22, CO folds, SB calls $22, Hero ???Aren't we checking this flop anticipating that UTG bets here and we can win some more monies? As Villain, he has no idea what we have given our flop check and he could think his 10's, J's are ahead here and that a bet could win him the pot here or allow him to take some monies off the SB. I think we need to raise here and if UTG goes ahead and re-raises then we probably have to fold
