*sigh* well, I'm the worst downswing of my career officially :(Poker can really just kma right now. After being up about 2500 in the 10/20NL game, I lost two big pots where the guy had a monster draw on the turn and hit the super sneaky gutter out that just didn't make sense and I had to call a big bet. I moved down to 5/10NL, and proceeded to somehow lose another $1000 vs a table with only ONE other competant player. So a few stories: The structure of the 5/10NL game is really bad. You can ony buy in for $400, which means implied odds go to crap and you need to double up before you play many speculative hands. So early on at the table I have J9s in the CO and there are 4 limpers, so I (stupidly) decide to raise to 60. Of course the button calls, as do 3 of the limpers. Flop T88 and it checks to me. As I'm getting chips the button is kicking me under the table repeatedly. Now, I've been at the table for about 10 minutes, and we've chatted a little but I don't know the guy. I fire out $100 and he moves in and whispers to me: "Dude, I was trying to tell you, I have the 8. I didn't want to get you, I wanted to get the 3 seat (who is also in the hand)" I have to muck just barely and he shows me the 8, and tosses me $10 for 'lucky chips.'So I'm like wtf this is craziness!! So I reload. This girl sits at the table and stacks off on her first 2 hands completely bluffing. She is an asian chick with huge fake boobs and clearly playing on bf's money. I get aces, there are two limpers, and I make it $75 to go. The guy to my left as I'm raising says "Easy easy I have a big hand." He calls, as do the two limpers. Flop comes K82 rainbow and the guy is kicking me under the table again. So I'm like wtf, clearly I'm never folding AA here in this structure with this huge fish in also. So I lead $100 and he moves all in over me, and whispers that he has a set. Now I have no idea wtf is up here as I've never encountered this madness, but finally I really think he's serious so I fold, and shows me a set of kings. LOOOOOOLLLLL. gg me :)And probably my favorite hand: So towards the end of the night, this other tightish girl has sat down. I have blown through the $5K I brought to the casino with me, and have $280 in front of me. I pick up AKh utg and limp intending to just ship it over any raise. Tight girl raises, one guy calls, and I ship. She almost IMMEDIATELY folds QQ face and says: "Wow, you must have a big hand." I'm flabergasted anyone could fold QQ here for 24bbs or whatever it was to her, when people routinely call of 1/4 of their stacks pf with K5s. hahaha good fold. I was almost too shocked to speak, but I told her good fold I had aces...Anyway, off to shower and grind 5/10NL today. My poker life not sucking would be nice today kthx God :(Mark

I kept imagining it was Brandon Cantu kicking you under the table because he thought you were now bff.

So I played yesterday and dropped almost 4 buyins in 4 hours - nothing too special, but it was just one of those sessions where I felt like I couldn't get anything going (I literally lost like 3 buyins to one donk). I decided I'd just get some good sleep and get back in it and grind it back today. 32 minutes, +1006. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.Best hand of the session - Table donk opens to 22 from CO (yep - 11 BB open). Obviously I get AA at the perfect time and know I'm gonna get PAID. Long story short, I get my stack of 250 in and hold vs QQ.

Just found out after calling the IRS that a settlement that i had received from USAA regarding a car accident 3 years ago is "not taxable" so that will likely bring my refund to around $1500 this year as opposed to the $200 it was at earlier. Looks like i have a working bankroll again for live 1-2 NL !11111juan :icon_dance:Beat: I still have to pay heavy taxes on a $3500 bad beat jackpot split i received in June.

TBH after the button cold call (generally very strong) and the UTG shove, folding PF wouldn't be a big mistake. You need to be 10 or so on the flop though.
