So being sold out has something to do with doing well or not? Couldn't it have something to do with the amount each company is shipping? Maybe the price? Lots of factors.

Sony probably doesnt want to sell out, since they are dropping hunderds per system sold, in the meantime Nintendo is actually profiting from their system. Microsoft is taking a hit too, but not as bad as Sony and they have a much larger library and better online setup than PS3 or Wii.What does the number of units shipped have to do with anything, if you want to look at that more than twice as many Wii's have shipped as PS3's, guess which one I can walk to any store in town and get right now. Nintendo is shipping far more systems, and they are still harder to get than a PS3.Latest numbers I could find...Xbox has a 2 to 1 lead on Nintendo and that gap is closing a lost faster than they are comfortable with. PS3 is a distant 3rd and they can't blame hardware shortages anymore, the systems are collecting dust on shelves everywhere.

You realise that EVERY list of PS3 games you post is 95% cross platform titles. There are only 3-4 exclusives in there and they aren't anything to get your panties in a bunch over. I love the Metal Gear Series but the games are usually only 12 hours long, never took me more than a day or two to beat them and I doubt thats going to change.Oh one other thing, HD-DVD will put Blu Ray in the grave, you know why??? Just saying, not THAT many people actually buy porn, and it costs $30 bucks for a dvd, what would a hddvd cost? Just can't see that as the strongest argument.And it doesn't matter to me when it takes it over. I prefer the watching the movies in HD now that i've seen how good it looks, and I could care less when everyone else gets on board. From what I understand, SSX Blur is going to be Wii-exclusive. The SSX series is pretty much the only "sports" video games I've ever played for extended amounts of time.

If that simple logic would apply then the Xbox would have won last gen and the Neo Geo would have crushed the SNES and Genesis back in the late 80's early 90's. Does Tetris have fancy graphics? No, they look pretty simple yet it is the most successful game ever made. It got that way because of a good concept that was executed well. Simple, fun, on some level addicting. I've managed a video game store, I've beta tested software for multiple companies, I've been playing video games since I could wipe my own ass I've stated at some point I will own a PS3, my nephew owns one and I have played on it a reasonable amount, but I sure as hell wouldn't fork over 500+ dollars for any of the stuff they have out right now. Resistance (the PS3 "killer app") is just another FPS, it has nothing on any of the last two years worth of FPS games released on PC. I'll take Half Life 2, Doom 3, the latest UT, F.E.A.R., etc... over Resistance any day. Gears of War on the 360 is a far superior game. Nintendo has a more successful must own franchise game already in Zelda. Sony is going to need 10 killer apps that are not available on any other system before it even becomes remotely worth the investment. Judging on current release information, thats going to be at least year and 1/2 from now at least, thats only if there exclusive titles are worth having. A large amount of the titles they did have as an exclusive jumped ship and crossed over to the 360 some time ago. By that time you want to guess how many the 360 will have, or the Wii? What I don't like about Sony is how they are trying to force the gaming industry to conform to them, they tried unsuccessfully to fully eliminate 2d games when the original PS came out. They actually wouldn't let Capcom publish a new version of Street Fighter on the system because it was 2d. Is Street Fighter a bad game, don't think so... but Sony management is retarded and they have continued to make stupid choices and comments over the last 11 years. The latest crap of trying to force there blu-ray tech on gamers is retarded, and it's one of the many reasons they are and will remain 3rd place this generation for a long time. By the time they even get close to second (if they do) it will be 360 they are chasing because Nintendo will surpass them by next Christmas. With over a year of titles and better online setup, the 360 is clearly the more logical choice over a PS3 right now and for the foreseeable future. Latest example of Sony putting foot in mouth - claiming the Wii is an impulse buy? Thats hilarious, as recently as a week ago I saw people lined up outside a Toy's R Us before it opened trying to get there hands on it. The system would need to be sitting on shelves like the PS3 is for it to be an impulse buy. Jadaki-I have been a long time Playstation guy. I didn't like the Xbox, and I wasn't looking foreword to the 360. You make some excellent points though, and I have to agree. Sony has really dropped the ball here. I keep waiting for that "must buy" game, and it hasnt surfaced yet. I didn't get my PS2 till they came out with GTA. Now GTA will come out for both, so what is their plan?In all fairness, I havent played more than 5 minutes on any of the systems, but I have friends who own one or all of them. So far the best reviews are coming from the Wii owners. It's like Playstation thought " We are SONY, when we release the system they will buy it"!!! Which is fine, but how about some games?Edit- I played quite a bit of Call of Duty for the 360, and it was alot of fun.

So if 10 is your magic number, start saving your pennies.And just because i'm rational doesn't make me a fanboy, I have owned all kinds of systems myself. In fact, for a long time, I was a pretty staunch Nintendo guy. But it takes more than PS2 games with a new controller to win me over. As far as the 360 goes, Ive played that as well, and Yes, Gears is a great game. Never said it wasn't. But what else have they done in the full year head start they've had? Not nearly enough, and not nearly as much as what the PS3 is about to do in their first year. Just like I said before.... wait and see. I never said you HAVE to buy the system right now, and that it's the most playable system out right this second, in fact, I only have 2 games for it since launch. Resistance and Tiger Woods.... because I didn't really like the others. But that doesn't mean I can't see that they're going to put out a lot of good **** in the future. Anyone who can't see that has some serious blinders up. It's sad really. I have no alliance to Sony. Why would I? Why would you assume that I do? So if I had none of these consoles in my possession right now which would I get? Honestly, the Wii and the 360. Why? The games and price. The Xbox because I can get exclusive games like Dad Rising, PGR, Lost Planet, and others, plus anything that comes out on PS3 for the most part and I save a couple hundred. Your a fanboy because you completely blind to the competition and obvious facts. Sony IS LOSING 3rd party support, in some cases they are losing the exclusivity of titles (Assassins Creed & GTA come to mind), in some cases companies are changing platforms all together because they want to sell as much software as possible and with Sony's price point, they are going to have a lot of problems passing anyone.If you so rational, tell me how doesn't 360 already have 10 killer titles which wont be appearing on a PS3. Who's to say that isn't going to continue to happen? The more time the developers get with the new hardware, the more distance you're going to start to see. New and interesting, but not a killer app by any means.And while I don't know the ins and outs of all of the games there, I wouldn't call the majority of those killer apps. They aren't system sellers except for GOW and maybe Dead Rising. Maybe our defenition is different, but most of those are pretty run of the mill games in terms of what's possible right now. Not to say they aren't good games, but it's not hard to have a few good games after a year. You're expecting the PS3 to come out of the gate and match up right away. It's not even remotely possible. Have a little patience. If you're such a "gamer", then don't make such harsh judgements when you could end up being wrong in the end. The 360 is a good system, and will continue to improve as well, but I'm just saying that I think the ceiling for the PS3 is gonna be quite a bit higher.And the only reason Sony is losing exclusives is because Microsoft has infinitely deep pockets and Sony doesn't feel the need to fight with them on that front. I don't see why everyone cares so much about exclusives anyway. As long as I can play the game, I don't really care who else gets it. I don't get the whole console war thing myself....
