2. I watched "Fight Science" last night. It covered several of the martial arts. Made me wonder why Kung Fu, Drunken Fighting (think Jackie Chan), or Ninjitsu never caught on in the Octagon.Kinda serious. They made it look so threatening.
Heh heh, if you watch some of the earlier UFCs there were karate and ninjitsu fighters, but fortunately for them it didn't take long to realise that drunken monkey is not effective when you are being pinned against the cage eating elbows.Keith Hackney was a badass though.

yeah, as I thought more about Ninjitsu or Ninjutsu, so many techniques are against mma rules.Perhaps the difference between the killing arts vs the sport fighting.it would be interesting to know: Who (or which discipline) can kill the most peopleprobably won't ever get that on ppv, :club:

where are you seeing these bodog fights? they on the internet somewhere? I know I saw some promotional thing on tv they had a while back, but nothing since.I've looked at the IFL once (thats the one with teams right? kinda like a mix of a wrestling tournament and mma?) and from what I've seen I don't like it as much as regular mma like Pride and UFC and what not. Since its a team sport, they seem to be much more willing to submit and to not give it their all as they would have to if it were just a single fight. I don't know, its still kinda neat though. I wrestled in high school so it brings back some memories somewhat (although my memories are of me getting beat since I sucked, but whatever).

OMG so so so so so so sik!As I saw it live, I didn't quite see the break initially, but knew within like 2 seconds something was horribly wrong by the way their legs were tangled...and of course her scream. Then they had to have super slow mo replay of it. Seriously...replays like that should come w/ a vomit warning. Also the officiating in Bodog is kinda brutal. In that chick fight, the girl who ends up snapping her leg should have never made the 2nd round. She was getting PUMMELED in the 1st and I was semi-shocked they didn't stop it. Then in the men's fight before this fight...same thing. Thought the ref let that guy get killed for way to long.Shake...it was on some sort of UPN type netweork here...not sure what it was, I barely caught it by flipping channels myself!

o no allmost posted a MMA topic not in the MMA FORUM OMG lolol.BJJ street fight. this is kind of a random question. Ive never been in a fight before and am not a very big guy. 6 ft 155 pounds, athletic but not "beefy". and im not much of a striker. But i have trained with Julios Gracie. He trained with Senior Gracie family for allmost 30 years (Brazilian JuJitsu). And after about a month of that class ( this was couple months ago)i could FINALLY beat my bro in wrestingling. 189 p VT state champ, i pretty much own him ( huge milestone in my life, since the kid has been beating on me for o so long) but he would still knock me the **** out. He put one of his friends in the hospital during a boxing match. I dont go near him when hes drunk either lol...ne ways my point is..... how do you think someone like me would do in a street fight againts a same sized person. I allways imagine me not even trying to throw, immeditly go for the clicnh, throw the guy to the ground with one of the dozen throws i know, and start throwing elbows. And he if he ended on top, i think it would be pretty easy for me to put an unexperienced person as hes throwing wildely into an armbar or triangle. break his arm, choke him out, or he will try to roll out of it and ill mount him...lolol just funny rant. Just wondering how my training would actually work in real life fight.

You'll take him down and one or all of his friends will take your head off with a soccer kick. Do not go for takedowns in a streetfight where other people could interfere.I have a similiar build to you, I'm 6'4 around 185, my advice to you would be bulk up like I am trying to do and continue doing BJJ but at the same time do Muay Thai to become a competent striker.

I'm a big MMA fan so you could say I'm very sceptical about the real use of martial art techniques. I did TKD for 4 years and it didn't take long to realise that forearm blocks and tiger stance is ridiculously ineffective against anyone except if they are using those techniques too. The definite most effective thing in my mind is to kick or punch someone as hard as you ****ing can. Thats it.Crocop, Gonzaga, Fedor... those are the fighters you would see dominating fight to the death competitions.

Ok boys, Rampage v. Liddell this weekend....Lets get this thing going again.I heard on the Scott Ferrall show on sirius this week that Chuck was seen partying it up at Pure nightclub til 4am the other day.Not the kind of behaviour one would expect from a guy facing his biggest challenge in UFC in quite some time.........

He's been known to do that. He was out partying all night before the Tito fight, and absolutely destroyed him. Rampage on the other hand is not someone you can take lightly.
I hope Chuck wins this one. Good fight with Parysian and Burkman as well. Tough to call these things now.
Pulling for Rampage, he has the tools and personality to be a great representative and champion in MMA.

I was at the fight in Feb and Rampage said he wouldn't be ready for Chuck until after a few more fights. He's doing the high altitude thing at Big Bear so hopefully he is in shape and puts on a good show.Chuck in 2. KO. This is his house !!

I'll have to avoid this whole forum after tomorrow for at least a couple days until i've downloaded and watched the PPV - but on a side note, how awesome was that brawl on the ultimate fighter? No gloves, no rules, and cement/rock floors. Who can ask for more?

Even after getting sucker punched/kicked twice lol..... he still gave him a pretty good beating."That was def. the most technical street fight, i have ever seen"and i was wondering, i was thinking about hooking my comp up to our 32'' tv for the fight tommrrow night and the live stream should be running at around 500kbps, how do you think that would look on the tv? will it really be much diff from my comp screen?

haha, yeah cause that worked so well for tito against chuck. but no, for this fight I really am kinda worried about chuck. from looking at those odds, doesn't seem like vegas wants to call it too much either, which is a little scary. this could end up being one of the best fights of the year. or it could be over in 30 seconds. hell, I have no idea. everything you thought was gonna happen in every other main even in the last freaking 5 ppv's turned out the exact opposite, so there really is no telling. alls I knows is thats I've got a friggin huge seven layer dip and a 12 pack of coronas, so I'll have a good time regardless. but I am currently still a little drunk from last night, so who the hell knows.

ESPN actually gave it some coverage?!?Wow. About freaking time.I was at a Canadian Casino last night and it was being covered all over the place on Canadian sports shows, including ESPN. I cannot figure out why it isn't given any real coverage here. Freaking WNBA gets coverage on ESPN, why not a real sport? At least Soccer isn't being jammed down our throats these days.
