Chicago Charitable Games

Recommended Posts

They have an event this Sunday at Seven Bridges golf course. Anyone ever play at one of these? I was going to Resorts on Sunday to blow some of my bonus but got an email from them this week. If it is donkalicious I might just go there instead. 10% rake with a $5 max. $2-4 no limit might not be a bad idea depending on the buy in and level of players.Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Frye?

I've heard good things about these games. One of college poker buddies actually deals at this game. I guess it's brand new and supposed to rival the Rockford Charitable Games but I have heard bad things about Rockford being shady. They had the first Chicago Charitable Games last month about 20min away from me in Naperville.

Rockford is pretty shady. BIg cuts taken out of SNG's tournaments and cash games. If you play well you can go there and easily clean up. The cash games are very beatable. The tourneys are hard to beat consistently because of the huge rake, and they cant pay you out in all cash so they sometimes give you prepaid visas.

That's basically spot on from everything that I have heard about it.

Pretty sure this one and Rockford are run by the same guy. Unless it's coincedence they're both named Ken.As for shadiness... pretty sure they just do all that stuff to stay legal. Haven't played the chicago one yet though. These "Chicago" ones are further from me than the rockford ones. (nw burbs during the week).... Kinda dumb.
