As stated I'd find out what event its from and then search the web from there. As for the why would he want it? I'd buy one if I could find one, its called a collectable! I own a bunch of sport jerseys of teams I never played for.....

I need some more information. Please tell the whole story. Who are you buying it from? Who's bracelet was it originally? In what event was the bracelet won? The more information you can provide the better. Thanks, and good luck.
What does this matter really? They're all the same from any given year except for the championship bracelet. Or unless the winner goes out and gets it engraved. This reminds me of the time Jake LaMotta smashed the gems out of his championship middle weight belt to pawn and the jeweler goes, "Yeah, but where's the belt? The belt is what's valuable?"

I don't know exactly what it is or how to describe it... but there's a huge difference between jerseys and a trophy/award. The only way I can see it being truely collectible would be if it was one of Johnny's or Doyle's or Phil's. Especially their 10th's. Or some huge star with multiple wins that is highly respected. If the name attached to it is not recognizable, then I don't see the collectibility.

To you there is a big difference but perhaps not to others. In January's Bluff Phil Laak and Tits Magee talk about a few bracelets that they've bought (can't remember who's but will look for the mag). I've got a ton of collectibles that may be crap to others (arena seats, sticks, balls, etc) but make a nifty little collection. I would gladly add any wsop bracelet to that collection.

If you are buying it from Brandi it probably once belonged to Dutch Boyd. LOLA Stu Ungar bracelet would be worth buying. Do you actually believe Helmuth would part with his? His wife probably has to force him to remove it before he takes a bath. Can just see Phil gathering up his rubber ducky, submarine, and his official WSOP poker chip soap on a rope, then being told by his wife he gets no Mr. Bubbles if he doesn't remove the bracelet. The whining then starts.

You think he's the only one who doesn't have their bracelets anymore? There are probably several, if not more, people who have sold or pawned their bracelets after falling on hard times. There was a piece in 2005 about someone who pawned their bracelet, but I forget who.
There was one about aa player I remember that pawned it and could'nt win another after that, made it out to be a curse. I remember it was an asian guy cant recall who though.

This is defintley being blown out of proportion, he wants to buy a bracelet to add to his sports collection not to show off when he goes to the casino, its his money/his life let him buy what he wants

Well your wrong about Phil, it was in one of his Card player articles a while back. He only has his main event bracelet, the rest he has given away to family members. I know it said his mom, dad, sister all received one from him.

Whew, for a second there I thought you were gonna tell me that it was posted in Cardplayer that Phil didn't ever bathe.

i remember seeing a show about a guy who paid to have someone shoot him in the shoulder so he'd have a bullet scar to show the ladies. he wanted a tougher image. i'm guessing he made up a story about how he got it from the cops in a drug deal gone bad.
I love that movie!!!!Do you remeber the name of it??? I have to get it on DVD!!!
