I know many of you watched Top Chef but wondering if any of you will watch Top Design? I saw the first episode and thought it was OK. It is kind of wierd that they start off with a design team instead of an individual challenge but I guess it is due to cost. Seems like we may see some cool things on the show but I am not sure if this will last more than one season like Top Chef or Project Runway. So, what are your thoughts?

I liked project greenlight, project runway, and top chef, but I don't know if I am going to be able to stomach top design. I will withhold my opinion until I watch one more episode, I may get hooked yet.

yea it didn't exactly grab me, but I'll watch it. I sure hope the 50k per team was a one time attention grabber otherwise they're sure wasting a whole lot of money. I have to watch more episodes to be sure, but I doubt this show can last more than a season. It just didn't have that same feel I get from Runway and Chef.I don't know if any of you saw the preview commercials for the show, where some contestants would say quick things about themselves. I find it hilarious that the white lady who got eliminated was all, "It's my way or the highway" but in the show deferred to her teammate and lost. Too bad cuz her strong attitude was a turn on, oh well. I think a huge reason manly man and girly man didn't get eliminated was because the producers thought they'd be good characters for the show.

OK... I know this is anything but a butch show but it is growing on me. Right now, I am so hoping that Goil wins. So... is there anyone else who is watching and if so, is there anyone brave enough to admit it?

I love Gol too! HE has more talent than the rest of the freaking hacks on the show put together. I love Arch. and to a lesser extent design, and I"m eating this show up with a spoon. A manly, hetro-sexual spoon.

I'm still struggling to get into this, despite being a huge Project Runway fan. I enjoy the show each time up until the judging, at which point I always get really annoyed/flabbergasted/agitated. Honestly, the judges are so snotty and condescending, but not in the same moderately humorous way as Michael Kors or Nina Garcia. I'm probably comparing too much, but I just feel like I should be enjoying it more than I am.Having said all that, yeah, go Goil!

I agree about the judging. I like the concept of the show which is just primarily a take off of Project Runway and Top Chef. The issue is the support staff. The judges have no humor. The project Runway and Top Chef judges could give real critique and at the same time add some wit and humor. These judges are just catty. As far as Todd Oldham... I do not recall his voice being this out of breath whisper thing when he was on House Of Style. I like Todd's designs but he does not have the presence that we saw with Tim Gunn or Chef Colicchio. I think this show will take off if they can either teach their existing cast how to be witty, thoughtful and insightful and add some edginess to Todd Oldham. Otherwise, they may want to look for some different people for their cast.

Chef Coliccio is just the man. He could be so funny, so brutal. Oldham isn't even a judge. He's like the host/peptalker. I think he needs to be a judge, and that he's too nice. Oldham needs to be meaner, and the rest of the judges nicer.

This show really grew on me. The one thing I hope for next season is more individual challenges. Even though Carissa was whiney, I was happy that it was her and Matt at the end. Good show.
