A beat is a beat. When I take one I don't even care anymore. It's not the end of the world, so don't let it bother you.

The guy smooth called pre-flop hoping to catch someone off guard with QQ. He made a (all be it very poor) bluff at a paired board on the turn and got lucky on the river. This isnt that weird of a hand. A Lot of bad players cant get off AA,KK, and QQ regardless of the flop. If you weren't playing soo far over your head (entire bankroll) you could re-load and continue to get your money in the pot when you have the best of it.Classic overreaction to a bad beat while playing in a limit that you dont have the bankroll to deal with.

What's for breakfast? I'm having Honeycombs.
I love Honeycombs, haven't had them or thought about them in years. Thank you. I'll be buying them on my next trip to the market.

BANKROLL MANAGEMENT FOOL
Despite the fact that this is a rude response, it is very true. If I've learned anything from playing online, bad beats seem to happen more often than in live games, and it's usually because there ARE a lot of bad players and you play many more hands online than you do live. It's crucial to learn good bankrool management so that when a beat does occur, you don't lose your entire bankroll. I've read somewhere that you should only risk 10% of your bankroll in any given ring game/tourney. Does this sound right to anyone?

My major downfall over my poker career has been bad bankroll management. I've built up good rolls at different times and then spent it out of necessity and gone back to playing the same stakes that I was when I had the roll to cover it. I am a believer in taking shots, but at the same time you have to expect that when you put your whole bankroll on the line you are going to fail more often then you succeed.

You all complain way to much about bad beats. What you need to realize is that you are Gambling. Just cause you don't gamble on crazy hands doesn't mean there are not people out there that simpley like to risk it on junk. Just go downstairs of any casino and look at all the people playing dumb games that are total gambles. Most of them realize, they are gambling and that the casino would not be there if people weren't so dumb. I have even seen people come to the poker table to really gamble. They don't even look at their cards and just call bets the whole way; blowing through 2g's at a 1/2 table. And sometimes winning all the money at the table.

See, this is the kind of post that deserves the food treatment. Yea, the guy was married to QQ. It sucks, it's over. I like Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

If you know someone like this, I'd like to have him over for my home game :club:
