Brisco 0
staying 3 nights in the tropicana from Feb 10-13..has anyone played at the poker room..?Yes, it is ok.The Borgata blows it away though. Specifically The Trop poker room is a little dingy, While Borgata is impeccably clean, and there is lots of room betwwn the 80+ tables. Much more comfortable. You dont feel like you will contract diptheria from handling teh chips.
RMcFadden94 0
Depends which Tropicana. If you are referring ot the Tropicana in Atlantic City, then yes. Overall, I really like the Tropicana. There poker room is nice, but try to get into the quieter glassed in area separate from the Horse Racing booths, and tournament area. They play mostly 1/2 -> 5/10 NL in that section so if that is your game you are all set. Definitely check out the Italian restaurant in the new French Quarter area. Get the lobster. Claws the size of your head.Best of luck on your trip.
OVERKILL 0
Spend the $10 and take a cab to the Borgata. Its worth it.Trop isnt "bad" though.
Socrates 0
He's talking about Vegas. I wouldn't play there, but then again I don't stay there either. Honestly, spend your time in some of the comfortable room.
cwik 0
Dingy is the right word for it. I stayed in the Tropicana so ended up playing there one night. It is alright, and the play was horible. I think some people might be a little imtimidated by some of the bigger poker rooms, and end up there. On that note, if your in vegas looking to have a good time playing poker, there are dozens of rooms that I think would be more enjoyable to play in then the trop. Note while I was there they only had about 4 tables with only 2 of them running.

sandwedge 30
I played there several times last year. The room itself is pretty crappy. However, 90% of the time, there will be 3 to 4 people (if not more) at your table who don't have a clue. If you're looking for soft competition and fairly low stakes (ie, not much money on the 1-2nl table), give it a try.
