Men the Hellmuth 0
I was at Foxwoods the past couple of days. I was playing some table games and i came by to find my friend who was sitting down at a 1-2 NL game in the poker room. My friend was running somewhat even when a hand came up that i would like to talk about. I wasnt playing, but i was standing behind my friend watching the action ( i myself stick to limit holdem and omaha ). Anyway, the dealer starts the deal, and near the end of the deal exposes a 6, which becomes the burn/expose card. Many people limp in, as they do in 1-2 nl, and the cutoff raises to 10 bucks, 4 callers, including my friend. The Flop comes A Q 8 with 2 clubs. everyone checks to the raiser who bets out 20 bucks, my friend calls, and a young/loose aggressive player also calls. The Turn is a red 6 for a board of A Q 8 6 and 2 clubs. The young LAG player bets 50 bucks, the orginal raiser just smooth calls, and my friend finally folds his flush draw. River is the 6 of Clubs for a final board of A Q 8 6 6 and 3 clubs. Lights Camera Action. The young LAG players looks down at his chips ( he has about 300 in chips and about 500 in cash ) laughs a little and says, how much should i bet, i dont know, i guess ill go all in. and thats what he does, he declares himself all in. The orginal raiser slinks back into his seat and takes a deep breath and starts going into the tank. He asks the kid how much he has, he then count downs his own stack ( which he has close to 500 bucks ) he then starts mumbling about the hands this kid could have, and of course he thinks the flush got him. The guy looks like hes getting ready to fold and the kid flashes him a red Queen. Now the guy leans forward and then exposes his 2 cards, which are AQ so... he has top 2 pair. Now...... heres the thing, at the begining of the deal, the dealer exposed a 6, so, one less 6 is the possible hands this kid might be playing, he also knows that this kid doesnt have a flush since he showed him a red queen, so the guy keeps thinking and says out loud that he doesnt think the kid would be playing a q/6 for a raise, which really means the only hand that could beat him would be QQ and the chances that this kid has the case 2 cards that could beat him are pretty slim. so either this kid is trying to bet him off a chop ( the kid also having AQ ) or he has a lesser 2 pair like Q/8. After thinking about it forever the guy finally calls. The kid shows him Q and the case 6 in the deck for a fullhouse. The guy says nice hand and pushes his chips to the kid. Now, i for one thought the play the kid made was absolutely great. I had no problem with him showing the guy a card in the middle of play, at foxwoods in a cash game, you are allowed to do that, so he was well with in the rules. That guy was getting ready to fold thinking that kid had a flush and the kid got him to pay him off instead. Now, i know not everyone would agree with me saying that it was a bit of a underhanded play, but .... you let me know..... what do you think of this play?

stan394 0
if i were the kid, and if i were bluffing, and the guy is leaning towards a fold, wouldn't I just want him to fold?

finztotheleft 0
I think it was a good play at the river, but what in God's name was he doing playing Q6 to a preflop raise with one 6 already gone ?

Maybe he should've typed it as "Now, I know not everyone would agree with me and perhaps say that it was a bit of a underhanded play..."Or, a well placed comma could also do the trick. XXEddie 0
He wasn't bluffing. He had a boat.what stan(or whoever) was that the other player looked like he was about to fold. so if he WAS bluffing he wouldnt of done anything and just let him fold. He showed the Q to try and make him call. something he would not of done if he was bluffing, he was saying he could have picked up on that
