Playing live 1-2 NLHE at Niagara the other night. I am on button with :icon_dance::D . There are 4 or 5 limpers. Cutoff +1 raises to 12. We both have stacks of about 250, and I call. This is the kind of hand I like to call with position. There isn't a whole lot of pre-flop raising at this table at all, but I have seen the OR raise in late position with stuff like Q-9o and A-6of. Then, something unexpected happens. 5 other limpers call the raise and we head to the flop 7 handed.Flop: :club::D:icon_dance: All check to raiser, who bets 40. Now I have a decision. $85 already in the pot, plus his $40 gives me 3-1 odds. I have TPNK and backdoor straight and flush draws. My first question is: Should I call here? I put his range at 10-10 to A-A and AK, maybe AQ. Probably only 20% chance of AK or AQ here, but I think odds are right to call. So I call. One other player calls all-in for his last $10. Main pot $115, side pot $60.Turn: :D:):icon_dance::icon_dance: Didn't help me at all. I expect another big bet from OR, and I will likely have to fold. But he checks. So I take a stab here or do I see a free river and pray for an 8 or a 5? I decide to check.River: :D:):icon_dance::icon_dance::) GIN! OR checks, I bet $55 (slightly less than value of side pot). OR calls and mucks. What did he have? Was my flop call justified or completely donktastic? Any praise or criticism is welcome.

I woulda folded on the flop. I highly doubt he would be leading into 6 people without a pair, so I would fold. It's not the flop you are looking for when you are calling raises with 85s, especially in a multi-way pot. He probably had JJ or TT and you sucked out.

Fold on the flop. You're playing these cards for the straight/flush possibilities. You shouldn't continue with top pair. 9 times out of 10 you're bleeding chips by calling here. Nice it worked out for you though. :club:

Well here is my analysis. Am I waaaaaaaaay off?#1: Against a big pocket pair like 10-10 to A-A, I am about 25% to win, or 3-1. The pot is laying me 3.1-1 If I hit on the turn, then I can 100% extract more money from the overpair, meaning I also have some implied odds to call on the flop.#2: My personal thought is that villian misplayed the hand in two spots. First by not betting enough on the flop to price me out, and second by not betting the turn, where I would surely have to fold to anything sizable.I am thinking that the call on the flop is just about even money, but with the implied odds if I hit, considering he won't fold the big pair, I think it's profitable. Is it close or am I still really wrong in my line of thinking?
