Brag post time. Lots of people saw pictures of Malkin practicing and Fleury in his new pads but I just saw them in person during a closed practice.     I was down at the arena to get my security

Yes I agree that Crosby kids gotta go. Can I interest you in a phaneuf?

JapersRink ‏@JapersRink · 20m Really looking forward to Dan Bylsma being either an idiot who can't win with Sid or a genius who can win without a bottom-6 after tonight.

9:42 AM:Great news on the injury front for the Pens as forward Eric Tangradi is back on the ice. Tangradi, who has been out of the lineup with a concussion suffered Feb. 11 at NY Islanders, is skating with Brooks Orpik and Mike Comrie right now.
Tangradi was the guy who got Gillied on February 11th and hasn't played since. Orpik is 2.5 weeks through of a 4-6 week broken finger injury. Comrie had hip surgery on November 24th and is on a 3-4 month timeline. Still nothing new on Crosby though.Big two points yesterday beating up on a team they couldn't afford to lose to. Similar situation tomorrow night when they travel to Ottawa. They're then off till Sunday when they'll start a tough 4 game in 6 night stretch against NYR, DET, PHI, and NJ. I'd like them to keep the #4 seed at least but would love that division title. Crazy that we can even talk about that with Crosby/Malkin out so much of the season.

Wow - I did not expect Tangradi to be back before Crosby...not even sure I expected him to be back this season. Goes to show you how unpredictable concussions are, I guess. I hope he doesn't rush things, though.

http://penguins.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=555960&cmpid"Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was back on the ice for the first time since missing 29 games with a concussion.Crosby skated on the ice for about 15 minutes in full gear early in the morning at CONSOL Energy Center. He stick handled around some cones and shot a few pucks. Crosby last played for the Penguins Jan. 5 vs. Tampa Bay. He was the NHL's leading scorer at the time with 32 goals and 66 points." :club:

As someone that hates Sidney Crosby(on the ice), I am very happy with this news today...I want him back ASAP, as its good for hockey...Good luck with the progress...

Best case scenario seems to be about 2-3 weeks (per Bobby Mac). I'd really like to get him a game or two before the playoffs.
worst thing they can do is rush him back and suffer a career ending hit.Sit out the rest of the year, he has his whole career ahead of him...With Malkin gone, they arent probably cup contenders anyways.

I think they can win with a healthy Sid and no Malkin, with the recent pickups, and the emergence of guys like Letestu and Jeffrey at center. Not that I wouldn't rather have Malkin, I just think the team is still good enough with our overall depth, when Sid is back in.I have absolute faith that Sid and the training staff would not rush him back for any reason whatsoever, so if he comes back, my assumption is that he's completely healed.

I dont think there's such a thing as completely healed once youve suffered a serious concussion. I think he now becomes possibly more prone to getting them, and thats a shame, cause every time he gets hit now, I'll be wondering how he'll react. Im just happy to hear some good news for him.I want very badly for this guy to play out his career, to its fullest. Cases like Bobby Orr, Mike Bossy and Peter Forsberg sadden me as a fan of the game.

I think Pittsburgh becomes a legitimate Cup contender with a healthy Crosby back in the lineup.
FYPIf he's skating in equipment now, he'll be back inside two weeks, barring a significant setback. I don't think Richards was even skating with the team prior to making it back into the lineup.

I think you can add Eric Lindros to that list..I want Sidney Crosby to fail at hockey, but i want him to be healthy while he does it..Who am I supposed to make fun of now??

Remember, Zach, that's the training staff that let him go back and play the rest of the heritage classic when he was clearly saying (on the 24/7 broadcast) that he couldnt even remember the hit. That's probably number 1 or 2 on the list for diagnosing concussions. There were some whispers yesterday that Bettman's new 'concussion plan' in regards to doctors on the benches was directly a response to Crosby being allowed to play after the Steckel hit.

I think the NHL has to take much of the blame for instances like this. I have to believe that not erring on the side of caution goes against what most, if not all, the doctors and trainers believe. The fact that they would be so careless is is probably an indication of league (or team) mandates. I can't help but wonder if Eric Lindros had a very good case against the Philadelphia Flyers medical staff.

Very good point..I still cant fathom how Grabovski who was clearly out of it for about 5-10 seconds didnt even miss a shift after the Chara hit..Under this new policy I am assuming Grabovski is pulled off the ice and might not get to score the winning goal..

Pittsburgh doesn't play again until Sunday. This is boring. Tough stretch coming up, though. Our next 4 are against the Rangers, Wings, Flyers, and Devils, all over just 6 days.

The plan right now is to hit Pittsburgh on Wednesday night. We may hit the Penquins practice on Thursday and then my wife wants to shop.I of course will be going to the casino on Thursday and Friday nights. If you want to come with me, let me know. Also just realized that the Hyatt Place is charging $18 per day for parking. That is a little crazy so I may go the Priceline route and see what I get near the airport.
Will be at:Four Points By Sheraton Pittsburgh AirportPittsburgh Airport (PIT)One Industry LanePittsburgh, Pennsylvania 15275 for March break. From 3/16 to 3/19.Tim, let me know if you want to hit either the Penquins practice or the casino.
Shit, I'm sorry, I haven't been on here since the 7th and it looks like you're leaving here today. Oops. :club:

Absolutely not a problem. We did hit the practice 2xs when we were there. Very lucky it was only 5 mins from the Outlet and a CiCi Pizza. Kept the wife and girls off my back while my son does his thing. Damn the weather was very nice. There is also a lot of autograph hounds at Pens practice. They also would not let us into the rink saying it was a closed practice. The chicks at the counter were also very rude. Are all chicks from Pittsburgh that stuck up?Anyways, the area for autograph hounds was brutal. I was able to speak to a few hounds and I have to say there are way much nicer than the ones in Toronto. My son only got 2 autographs (Letang 5 times and Dan Blysma):IMG_3720.jpg

Why would talking to two (?) people make someone even come close to a generalization about a whole population? lol
