Seriously how does this guy have a job. He trades away our best trading chip (Soriano) for a SP that would have been released otherwise. He trades away some of our best prospects for nothing (Fruto, Snelling) for Vidro!?We traded Choo last year for Broussard. I guess we still have to see what we get for him before I can call that a bust.We replace Gil Meche with Miguel Batista? How is this an upgrade? If/When Ichiro leaves we'll never get anyone to come up here again. Do we trade him at the deadline? Or do we Soriano/ARod it and fuck up AGAIN. The one smart move we made was locking up Putz for 3 and an option. Any M's fans dreading the beginning of a probable last place finish yet again? What happened to 116 and 262?!?ARGHHHHHHH

Ahhhh... the Seattle Mariners and this offseason. It's like watching the world's slowest trainwreck.For what it's worth, this and the resulting 73 win season should cost Hargrove and Bavasi their jobs after next season. And if there are enough empty seats in Safeco, maybe Howard and Chuck will be forced out too. Signing Jeff Weaver didn't help matters any. He had it good in St. Louis with arguably the best pitching coach in baseball at his side, and to top that off an better chance to win than Seattle could offer. Going back to a division where he mustered a 7.00+ ERA last year is equivalent to suicide.

Bavasi makes so many moves for the sake of making a move. I think Weaver will slightly rebound from his disastrous 2006 and will be better than Woods/Baek, but he'll only be a few runs better than the alternative. The guy is a career washout with a drinking problem.
