Your Parting Message For Online Poker

Recommended Posts

Today really feels like the beginning of the end for online poker as it was. I've pulled almost all of my money offline, and just don't see things going back the way they were. My parting message to online poker would just be to say thanks for giving me something to obsess about for four amazing years. What would yours be?

Am I missing something? I just made a deposit on Full Tilt. Not 15 seconds ago using instant check.
I've been working all day. What did I miss??

Online poker site deals w/ big bank in Canada, big reputable bank in Canada deals w/ banks in US. Wow!! One more step in the depositing/withdrawing process, big fn whoop (I'm pretty sure UB already does this). It will be near impossible to stop online gambling, quit being such a downer.

Mine would be to stop being so ****ing dramatic. It'll be back in full force in no time.
What evidence do you have to back that statement up? Cause I have about sixty pages of evidence to the contrary if you want me to get rolling.

Dear Online Poker,You left some of your clothes, some perfume and a box of tampons at my place. I'd like my key back, too. Thanks for being so understanding.Sincerely, Erik

I have not reloaded since Visa quit allowing me to deposit on Stars. No way I am going to give my bank account number to some online joint in Costa Rica or wherever.I hate to say it but the vice seems to be rapidly tightening. Time will tell. But since I don't make a living (nor plan to) playing online I just feel it is not worth the hassle to try and get some funds onto a site.My message would be "Thank for bringing poker to the masses", per the request of the OP. At least the B/Ms are still stocked with fish.D

That is a brilliant analogy. Can't believe that all this time I did not clue in that online poker screws one even if you make all the right plays. And god help ya if you screw up too - it just gets worse. Oh well, at least online poker never asked me what time I was getting home.....

I think I want to clarify what I said before... Obviously people who play online frequently are still going to play. I'll probably find some way to get money in there and keep playing. What I meant is that this latest blow is going to keep new and inexperienced players - the ones who make online poker so much fun and profitable - from depositing money and contributing to the poker economy. Things will undoubtedly be different now, and that is what I was wishing goodbye to.

I think you are bang-on with that thought. It is the growth which is going to dwindle. Then as the casual (and less skilled - kind of like me!) players with money online (unlike me) eventually go broke, and find it a PITA to deposit more money, they will say screw it.So for those that are left over, the games are not going to be anyways near as juicy either as the pool of fish dries up.Hope that forecast is wrong for those of you who make a living online.....

That has some truth to it. Alot of new donkey money will be going to a live casino near you. I may have to actually leave the house to play.

Sadly no one gets this.
