Hero calls.Turn: J Q T 8 ($25 in the pot) Hero checks. CO bets $15. Hero folds. This was like my 6th hand at the table and I had no reads on CO, never played with him before.I'm mostly looking for a checkup, It has been a long while since I have played No-Limit, I usually play 2/4 or 3/6 limit hold'em. I was very good at No-Limit cash for a while though, so I'm just trying to get re-adjusted. Is this standard w/o reads? Thanks for the help...
krup24 0
I think I play it the same. Definitely no reason to call the turn. Only thing I may do different is I tend to not raise AQo in EP and I have actually began to win the hand.

Bubba83 0
Actually your MP2. In case your wondering I hate AQo it was a huge leak hand in my game that I have since fixed.I meant MP2, but yeah that's still 3 off the button at a 10 handed table. The reason to make this raise here is to punish the limper who probably has a weaker hand, and quite possibly buy position. Even if the limper has a small-mid pocket pair it is very advantageous to make this raise because I will continue with a bet at the pot on the flop if i miss and he will most likely feel uncomfortable with the overcards to his pair that most likely flopped and fold. TwoFourOffsuit 0
Good laydown. It looks like he took a chance on a straight draw and nailed it on the turn.
