pokerfan1080 0
Trying out some limit. I wanted to raise the flop, but I didn't want to scare him off. Thought I'd wait for a turn bet from villain to re-pop him there, and river if he bet there too.So, should I raise the flop and not worry about losing him?Edit: what about preflop? Should I be raising here, or is a call preferred?PokerStars 1/2 Hold'em (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)Preflop: Hero is CO with T, T. Silly_11 0
I like the way you played it. If the pot was bigger i'm raising to protect my hand from draws. As it is played you're trying to get BB to call and get UTG to bet on the turn. Then you pop it to get more $$. NH sir.
Actuary 3
^^^^^but you should raise preflopDraw light board, I'm fine with letting BB come along here, in a mid size potAlso, given an UTG raise, I'd think there is a decent chance he bets the turn, although, that's a risk as well. But, when he is not leading the turn, had you raised the flop, he's often c/f the turn anyway. checkymcfold 0
3bet preflop is a must.after that the whole hand changes, but since you did call preflop, i play the hand out the same.

TheCinciKid 0
Always 3-bet this pre-flop. After that it plays out much differently anyway, but as played the flop call was ok. You've got a strong enough hand to wait for the turn.
MrNiceGuy 0
Yeah, I'd virtually always 3-bet or fold in this spot preflop (I'd fold if the UTG is a very tight raiser from up front). I'd only consider coldcalling if there were a really weird circumstance about one of the players behind me (for example, if the BB never folds for any amount of raises). That's a pretty good reason to 3-bet pf, right there.
