Recommended Posts

I have just been beat badly of a "fish" online. I wonder if there´s any justice in the world ?I have Q :D J :) .Flop is : 10 :D 9 :D 2 :) (pot is 10$)I bet, three calls me.Turn is : 8 :) ............My straight hits. (pot is 14$)I bet, two folds and one calls.River is : A :) .........I want to see if he has a Flush so I bet, and he re-raises me. He´s been playing any high card all the time, so he might just have an A...... I call him. (pot is 26$)He has : 9 :club: 4 :D .............what can you do ????????????? Where´s the justice in that ?????

Thats why I play NL - he would have been booted out of that hand long before the turn hit.If it makes you feel any better the last 5 times in a row, having AA, raised hard and reraised preflop, and got them cracked each time but stupid hands like K4s, 910s, A6o (hit trip 6s). Fish will play anyhands sometimes, and there isnt a dang thing you can do about it.Dev

I particularly like this part of the play. You bet to see if he has it. He rasies you (he can't re-rasie a bet, only a raise) and you still call. When you wanted to see if he had it and he raised, that should have said "yep, he has it," but you called anyway. The you completely justified your reason for calling by saying, well maybe he just has an A. Sounds like you look for reasons to call. Like the others said, not a bad beat, not a long shot, just run of the mill everyday poker. Someday you'll learn to love people who play cards like 97

your behind on the flop, you beat him on the turn and he has a flush draw on the turn, so he should call. I mean what would you rather have here, somebody fold their draw to your made hand so you make less money or would you rather have them suck out on you once in a while and call you everytime? This is hardly a bad beat. Try flopping a boat and getting beat by runner runner quads, that's a lot more fun.

I only play NL and I've been called down with worse than that. Many times.
True but for the one time you get burned, there are five times the fish is paying you off bigtime.Dev

i'm really really bad at poker, but if for some reason i wound up playing a 9-4 suited from late position (maybe i was too drunk to read my cards) and the play went like that i would have taken it to the river also. except i would have raised when i flopped that pair of 9's just to feel out where i stood. i probably would have also raised your bet on 4th street now that i had a middle pair with a flush draw.but again, i suck at poker.

get over it...This stuff happens multiple times a day to most of the people who play limit poker online....Plus, its not as horrible of a beat as you think...Look at it, He had you beat on the flop, you had him beat on the turn, but he made a re-draw and beat you on the river...Thats not even a bad beat, just unfortunate. Man up beotch

Yeah, I have to admit I was on the winning end of a crazy one, and really felt bad for the other guy (after I counted his chips on my side). I had K-K with not a ton of chips, so I pushed in. One call and everyone else drops out. He flips over A-A. Flop gives me a set. Turn gives *him* a set. River gives me quads. Now *that's* a bad beat...No, just getting tapped by someone who goes to the flop with worse cards than you or a plain-questionable hand isn't what I'd call the definition of a bad beat. i got bad beated the other night with this hand.everyone folds preflop to the blinds, i'm in BB with 77. SB raises, i reraise, SB calls.flop Q 3 3 :: SB bets, i raise, SB calls.turn 3 :: SB checks, i bet, SB calls.river 3 :: SB bets, i call out of tilt factor, SB shows K2 offsuit.i would have been ok if he had spiked a K but running 3's /sigh

How about this one........same weekend.I have A :D A :D I raise, preflop in BB.Flop is : 9 :) 9 :) A :) I flopped a full house, two people left, don´t wanna scare them I check, one of them bet the other calls and I call.Turn is : 7 :D I bet, one calls and the other calls.River is : 9 :) I bet, one folds the other raises me, and I call.He has : K :D and 9 :club: He´s been playing 80% of his hands to the River, his bankroll is like a rollercoaster. I´ve previously won about 30$ from him alone, but now he takes back about 15$ from me.......I had to leave the table and take a breath of fresh air. What is the right strategy on playing these guys ???I played to tight I could squeeze a lemon with my butt, and I still got burned.......
