Jeepster80125 0
Yes, he was Scottish, but the telephone was invented in Canada while he was a Canadian citizen before he moved to the USA.link? Because I can't find evidence of your claim, but:http://www.150.si.edu/150trav/remember/r812.htmEven wikipedia disputes the phone claim:Credit for inventing the electric telephone remains in dispute. Antonio Meucci, Johann Philipp Reis, Alexander Graham Bell and Elisha Gray, amongst others, have all been credited with the invention. As for the lightbulb, the only claim you can hold is the first patent to a modernish version, but you need to recognize that there were many, many people who contributed to its design over the years. Again, wiki:While conversion of electrical energy to light was demonstrated in laboratories as early as 1801, it took more than 100 years for the modern form of electric light bulb to be developed, with the contributions of many inventors. The first light bulb was created by British inventor Joseph Wilson Swan in 1860, who used carbonised paper filaments in an evacuated glass bulb to create light. Unfortunetly, the light bulb was inefficient and did not have a good life span. Swan created a carbon bulb with a longer life in 1875.In 1874, two Canadians - Henry Woodward and Mathew Evans - created and patented the first electric light bulb. They later sold the patent to Thomas Edison for $5,000. Edison perfected the electric light bulb and was the first to market the device successfully. In a January 2007 television show in Canada, the light bulb was chosen as #3 on the list of The Greatest Canadian Inventions. As for insulin, I'm not fat, so I don't really care who invented it. fleung22 1
No, it's a thread that asks a question. It's funny that so many Americans take things so personally!makes me think of when a reporter was asking spike lee why there are so many black people in his films.spike replied "why is it strange to have an all black cast but there are no questions in an all white film?"also, let it be known that Jack Bauer is the greatest Canadian to defend the United States of America. They showed a gigantic poutine that was on a tray about 2 1/2 feet wide and 6 feet long. The guy was pouring gravy on it from a small bucket. No, the bucket was not red.
