Not quite so cool and complex, but you parked your car in this spot and this machine that had like 6 spots on it rotated and lifted your car in the air and made room for another car, somewhat analogous to a ferris wheel. It was pretty sweet, but not nearly as cool as your link
offset 0
That's pretty neat, but it seems like it would be very expensive. In addition, if the machine failed it could lead to a lot. At the least people would not be able to access their cars until it got repaired and if something really got screwed up cars could be damaged. It looks like that is the direction urban car parking is going, but I don't think anything developed (that I know of) is really there yet.
PedalMettle 0
This is nothing new. They have things like this all over Japan. Some are the ferris wheel type but I used one just like the OP linked to. We drove into a shopping mall and parked in what looked like a small garage. As soon as we stepped out, one of the walls opened up and the car got whisked away. Here's a cool pic of one in Germany that VW uses to store new cars:http://www.thecoolhunter.net/design/GERMAN-PARKING-GARAGE/Not sure what this has to do with Daniel's blog. runthemover 39
the real parking solution for America is better public transportation.
pokerlooper 0
They are coming to America, and I am the one distributing them. If anyone knows any developers or wants in on some investment end of the project, don't hesitate to email me with any questions. I have a great referral networkagolob2334@yahoo.comI've already have meetings lined up with all of the colleges here in Nevada and a few of the casino's. The price on a normal garage costs around 30K per spot. This system is around 20K. Using a lot less space, energy effecient, and environmentally friendly. You will all be parking in them soon and you heard it here first. Daniel,If by some chance your reading this;Once I get the bankroll, I'm coming for you. If you still want to tee it, I can make tee time at Cascata. Shoot me an email.

pokerlooper 0
The amount of energy it takes to power a 100 cell car park is the equivelent to 80 amps which is about the same amount as a 3 bedroom house would use. It is not a hydralic lift. They use small blue motors to power the lift.
