Sure, there's no way he should have acted like such an idiot, but he did have to make a decision about whether he was going to go all in or fold at that point.He asked everyone to be quiet, and Gus asked him if this was another bad move ... Gus wasn't even involved in the hand. Again, Phil's behavior was out of line, but so was the rest of the table behavior.BTW - best moment of the first three episodes was clearly the story about Stevie Z's diamond smuggling ... psujohn 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Share Posted January 4, 2007 Phil did have a point. The mood of the show is supposed to be light hearted and chatty. That's what they're going for. Once Phil asked people to be quiet it would be common courtesy to do so. Though the fact that Phil asks for quiet, they quiet down and then Phil starts talking was pretty funny. A poker player should be able to tune out the distractions and make his decision while others are talking. Hell in a casino are you ever going to get everyone in the room and the nearby sportsbook and the slots parlor to be quiet while you make your decision. The issue was that Phil wanted to talk to Annie to try to get a read and he couldn't do that with all the table chatter.I actually kind of agreed with Sheiky. Phil was playing bad. Actually it's a bit surprising. Phil seemed to be playing incorrectly for the format of the show. He's usually really good at adapting to strange formats. Gus seems to have gotten it right. I've set my PVR to record it nightly now.Helmuth kind of made an *** of himself, but I think he had a valid point, and sheiky was completely out of line.
