JeremyG 0
Since we have a big 4br house in Vegas we are considering renting out the 4th room for during the WSOP. We would only want big poker players, like maybe a pro or someone who would stay during the entire event. We don't want anyone just for a couple nights. We were even considering trading the room if they buy us into one of the smaller events or something, as a backer (they'd also get a percentage of our wins). The only problem is the house is a solid 20-25 minutes from the Rio... which may not even be a problem, since I know a lot of big players like to get WAY away from the tourneys to chill. So, where would I post? Craigslist? 2+2? Pocket5's?

Makes absolutely no sense.[/quote Annie Duke did it last year, although I believe she rented a house, not just a room. I personally wouldn't want to stay with a bunch of strangers. To be honest, I really doubt anyone you would actually want to be there would be interested. Good luck keeping all of your ****. I see a robbery in the future.
bdc30 0
if they buy us into one of the smaller events How the hell much are you charging to RENT 1/4 of a house for a few weeks to a month? The cheapest WSOP event is like $1500 isn't it??
PositionPlayer 0
Yeah, let's see here. Suite at the Bellagio or Wynn? Orrrrrrr... some random dude's spare room 30 minutes from the event.*flips coin*Sorry, you lose.

And most pros dont want to stay on the strip during the WSOP, want to get away from all the action and be able to unwind. I do agree that someone will not want to stay with a stranger, but as long as you are personable it will work. Its not a bad idea, but is it going to work, chances are slim, but thats just my opinion.Jeff

Got it.

JeremyG 0
Let's see... rooms are renting all over Vegas for $250/night for New years Eve. The going rate for a room to rent LONG TERM is $500-600/month. Short term $800-900. cheaper than an apartment. $1500/mo on a short-term rental and a high-traffic month for a niche market is about right.I've actually already been contacted by 2 people who are considering renting it for the entire month. Our house has a separate "casita" which is totally separate from the house, separate bathroom, entry door, etc. so it's similar to a hotel. So it's not like they are STAYING with me.Yeah it's 20-25 mins from Rio but that's up front. As for a $1500 buyin, I figure with both of our results in WSOP and other events, and the chance for that person to get 1/2 of the winnings just like a "stake" situation... it's not a bad gamble. They may pay a little more if we don't get in the money... but if we do, he/she stays for free AND makes money.Either way, the question was WHERE DO I ADVERTISE IT. Obviously none of you low-limit online players that have replied so far would be interested... so where to advertise?

That was funny what you did right there. You, my friend are a fuckin' comic genious. You should throw in a stand up comedy act once a week for your poker pro guest.
