Hey everyone,I have just finished a documentary that follows the life of a 22 year old professional poker player. It's about 10 minutes long and can be found at Google video by searching for "Life at the Tables" (with quotes) or by clicking the link below. Let me know what you think at sarcasmisnice@comcast.net.http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=57...12414&hl=en Thanks

Good job, is he primarily a live player or both live/online? In the future a longer documentary would be better, maybe a day in the life segment, etc. But overall, decent job.

Good video. I wish it had more actual card action but understandable with the casinos. It really does touch on some important topics that are on the negative side of the poker spectrum. The young kids with all this money and no respect for it are in for a big surprise at some point. Not all are headed for disaster but the sudden 'rush' of winning and the instant cash can be VERY misleading about the big picture. I feel very fortunate to have had my past and my youth where poker was just something we played around with. I am at a time now that I respect money and I always keep the big picture in mind. Make some more videos and post them. I am sure there are many of us that would watch and help you get better at your producing(which isn't bad) at the same time. GL

The video was my senior project at college, and I had a time limit. I actually shot enough footage for a 20-25 minute piece.
do u know how this guy is doing now?? is his poker life going smooth

He's doing well, he has a blog where he keeps people updated on everything going on in his life. I will have to ask if he will let me post the address to it on a public forum, but if he agrees, I'll post it.

I enjoyed it, I too had to work on a film project recently and I know how much work and time and effort it takes to get it done. The best feeling is when it is done and you look back and watch it the first time through and see all your dry footage turned into a finished, polished project. I enjoyed the film, a nice easy watch. I can't think of anything to critique right now with it, but I enjoyed it overall. Congratulations and nice work.

Hey everyone I am the subject of Ryan's Documentary. I don't often visit poker forums and when I do I just read instead of posting myself. However since everyone seems to be receiving the documentary so well I wanted to sign up and answer a few questions. At the moment I am almost exclusively a live cash game player, I play mostly out of Atlantic City. I have spent most of this year traveling around the tournament circuit (playing mostly smaller events and cash games) and am currently on a "vacation" back home in Maryland where I live. I am planning on moving to Vegas with some friends next year, but as of right now nothing is final. For anyone who is interested enough to want to learn more you can check out my blog at blog.myspace.com/jlimbsJust to warn everyone, my last few entries will probably be pretty boring since I haven't been playing as much poker. There are some more interesting entries around Mid-November that are worth checking. I played in the Foxwoods 10K Main Event and wrote some detailed entries about what it was like. Also as you read the blog you'll notice that I am generally playing lower limits then I talk about in the movie. When those interviews were done I was at the peak of my poker career playing 10-25NL. Unfortunately due to some rough luck and outside of poker expenses I have dropped down to playing primarily 5-10 NL since then. Anyway, thanks for the support, I hope everyone likes the movie.-Jerry Limber "JLimbs"

Nice video.Other than the fact that I find it amusing to hear a description of a "22 year old professional." (I have shoes older than that.)I thought it was well done. For a short video it gave a good look at both the ups and downs of playing poker for a living.Good content....nice camera work....good editing...... I give it a thumbs up.

Great video. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, the opening credit for the production was set to one of my favorite songs of all time, Incubus' "here in my room"
Bonus points for noticing Incubus in the opening sequence! It's a great song, but my favorite song of all time is "Everlong" by the Foo Fighters. I tried and tried to find a place for it in the documentary, but it just didn't fit.
