Its been posted widely that the list of events for next years WSOH, I mean the WSOP, were supposed to be posted by the end of the year. Anyone know when they might be posted? Daniel, since your on the players committee, do you know when this might be.

I have a copy of it in my e-mail box but I can't post it. It's pretty much a finished product so I imagine it'll be released very soon.

We did the best we could. Some pros, some cons, but all in all the Advisory Board had a lot of input. More HORSE events if you are into that! A $5000 and a $2500 along with the HORSE event which will remain HORSE all the way to the end this year.

Daniel,What about Stud games. Are there any additional stud tourneys or are they the same as last year. (I hope we get to have at least as many as last year)Also, are you going to play the Horse event at the Circuit in Tunica next month or are you just doing the Main event for Tunica? Lastly, is there any chance that there will ever be a 5 Draw Hi event ever again at the series? James

There are more events in general, and we pushed and pushed, and were able to secure more stud games. As for 5 card draw... I just don't see it happening.

Excellent. It was disappointing that there were only 4 stud events last year and 3 were so close together. I might actually have a reason to stay longer than 2 weeks this time. Not a surprise on draw. I would one day like to see at least a PL 5 Draw started somewhere. Of course, I would probably be the only player below 50 playing, but hey, thats a typical stud tourney for me.

My personal opinion, and no offense to Daniel, is that there shouldnt be multiple bracelet events for "just champions" etc. 1 event like they do for the women and for the seniors might be ok however. Any more than that I think takes away from the series as a whole. The events are to find out who the best players in the world are, not to see who the best champion is. However, thats just my personal opinion. Champion events would probably be huge tv and crowd draws. A normal heads up tournament would be great however....but a madhouse in regards to actually holding it. 2000 heads up players. What a mess that will be.

thats true-i don't think there should be one just for the champions but if they were going to do a heads up tournament the buy in should be pretty big to try to not get many players. If they had a small buy in most would play and it would take forever unless the WSOP raised the blinds rapidly, but one of the great things about the WSOP is the blind structure

There isn't one single champions only event on the schedule. There is a heads up event though...

I wish I could see some LO8 events on TV. But I guess most viewers just don't appreciate the beauty of it (or don't comprehend) and get bored.DN can you do something to spread this game? :club: By the way I really appreciate your forums. It's here I learned poker especially lo8 by discussing hands with other fellow posters. I know my earlier posts could be naive and unintelligent. But by now I am comfortable beating the 10/20 and 15/30 lo8 cash games.

JacKingOff_suit, thats my opinion too about Stud. They didnt even show one stud event from the WSOP. I think that David Williams winning his first bracelet would have been AWESOME for people to see. Stud isnt just for the older crowd. They could televise one of them if they wanted to. Heck, shorten or get rid of a couple of circuit episodes and you have it right there. Heck I would even take an episode that was broken up with 1/2 of it on a stud and 1/2 on another type such as O8. People complain that stud and Omaha are boring. Personally, Holdem get dull and boring after a while, no matter how closely you pay attention or focus. Also, in my opinion, if you can play stud properly, you have the patience to play ANY poker game.

Daniel,Can you give any updates as to when the schedule will be published? I'm being selfish here in that I am trying to book a trip to Vegas (with some fish, I mean Friends) for the WSOP this year but can only stay for 6-7 days. I'm not as interested in the the main event, but am more interested in playing a few of the $1.5K to $2.5K Omaha, HORSE events and want to make sure i get the most bang for my buck in terms of time.I'd like to get a jump on reservations as I am sure it will be a busy time. Any insights you can give is appreciated.

Flush Draw,Thats exactly what I did last year. I was in the area actually 12 days but only played in 4 events. Satellited into 2 and bought in directly into 2. Cashed in 1 event. I stayed over at the Orleans. They had a poker event going on there and offered a room rate of 49 bucks. Much cheaper than the Rio if you have transportation. Jooka,They also said it was supposed to be out by the end of the year. The sooner that its out the better it will be for me as well. That way I know what type of bankroll I will need.

CompCards,What can you tell me about satellites in the WSOP, particularly for some of the 1-2.5K non holdem events? Do they have them, if so where, and how often? Other then the Rio - what are the best properties to stay at from a poker standpoint. I'll stay at a roach motel if they have enough Omaha WSOP satellites.Let me know?Jooka,There was a letter sent to some people who played in the main event last year to tell them they will get a discounted rate if they reserve a room at a Harrah's property. In that letter, they said the whole schedule would be released by the end of the year. Since that letter they announced that the WSOP will take place from June 1st to July 17th. Now obviously they have missed the released by the end of the year boat, but I would rather them take some time and figure it out. I am happy they are reaching out to some of the poker community. Now with all of that being said, if I am sitting here on Feb 1st and the schedule still isn't out I will be a little annoyed.

there are SNG's that run all day from $125 up to the $1K tables. The $325's we played were very juicy, lots of dead money with the good players almost always chopping. Also Binions always has great poker rates and comps.

Us players would love to see other events televised but there aren't enough of us around to make it worth it for ESPN to show them. The games are too hard to watch for the general public especially stud, they just wont watch them.

Thanks Sam.I was actually thinking more along the lines of true satellites or super satellites dedicated to particular events as opposed to sit and goes, but so long as I get the $1500-$2500 to buy in then what does it matter?

Flush Draw. The only satellites for events other than NL Holdem are single table SnG. The $175 satellites will allow you to win your way into a 1500 event if you do not chop. A $125 will give you an entry into a $1000 event. $225 into a 2000 event and it moves up.There is dead money galore at all levels. I personally think the 175's were more profitable overall because word got out on the 300+ satellites being easy money. Satellites for events other than NL are going to be only the day before. Also, there are $5000 satellites for the 50k horse event. My personal recommendation would be to carry the buyin amount for the tournaments you want to play and not depend on satellites. If you do well, then money saved. If not, you can consider it practice. Now, there is one thing you need to be aware of. Satellite chips cannot be used for other SnG events. (As of this past series) If you won a $125 for 1000 in tournament chips, you could not use them to enter the single table $1000 buy in SnG. This sounds screwed up, but that was the case. This might not be a concern for you if you do not want to satellite into the Main Event. The Orleans offers 2 daily tournaments and they mix up the games. They offer Omaha Hi Lo 2 or 3 times during the week as well as Limit Holdem. I made a final table in the only Omaha tourney that I played there. I really cant give you many recommendations in regards to casinos in Vegas. When I wasnt playing at the Rio, I was playing at the Orleans due to their event.

All good stuff there Compncards, thanks for the info. Good to see it's a standard $25 rake for the SNG. I play at Foxwoods in CT and they get more or less a 20% rake for anything less then $250, and I think its 15% after that. Don't quote me on the exact rake other then to say it's a lot more then a flat rate of $25.I think my plan in to bring $3K with me, buy into 1 event for 1.5 or 2, and use the rest on side games and satellites. I guess my original question of "when are they going to release the schedule" is even more important if they are only going to run Satellites the day before the WSOP event. As much as I think it should be the most revered bracelet going forward, I just don't have the scratch to put together a chance at playing in the 50K HORSE, but thanks for the update. Besides, my stud game needs work. Unfortunately, unless I get lucky while I am out there I don't think I am going to make it into the main event either. But it's good to know ahead of time you can't parlay a satellite chip into a bigger satellite. Although if they are not letting the third party stuff go this year they may need as many players as they can muster for the ME.I'll Look into the Orleans events when I nail down when I'll be out there. That might make an interesting side trip.I've been out to Vegas "once or twice" just never during the WS. If the Rio is where the "official satellites" are held, I'll try and stay near there. Actually my buddy has an in at the Palms so I think we are going to try that.So - even though I am very happy to be sidetracked with all this great info - When is the schedule due out?
