Is it better to be 6-7 and win the playoffs at the end of the year? Or is it better to be 11-2 and kick butt almost every week? I mean when it comes down to it the playoffs are just luck aren't they?

Most of the time the money is in the playoffs...so I went with the Playoffs. The same is true for the real NFL as our forum Colt fans know too well.

Well in my league the best schedule record also won the playoffs... sooooo. I managed to beat him once early in the season, but injuries killed my team late. I still took second in the playoffs.(BBV?)

Sam, how do you feel about Jen's recent breakup?I'm thinking, a la Dumb & Dumber:"You mean like, 1 in 100?""No, more like 1 in a million.""So you're saying there's a chance....YEAH!..I read you."

You could always be like me in the FCP Army Fantasy Football....16 teams, first in total points, first in the regular season, first in the playoffs. Triple Crown, Baby.As for the OP, if it's a one-year league, i'll take playoff success every day. If it's a dynasty or keeper league, generally regular season success bodes best for the future.

you forgot [/brag]Congrats though, I guess it's just the bitterness coming out in me. In the 10 years I've been playing fantasy football I'm always managed to make it at least to the playoffs but bad drafting (Both Moss's and Edge) gave me a 2-10 season.

I said schedule. playoffs are a crapshoot. one bad week at the wrong time ends it all. take one of my teams this year, outscored every team by 200 points in the regular season, outscored everyone in the first playoff week then had a crap week and got 2nd place.

League Champ(Playoff winner)For example, Id rather be last years Steelers(6th seed in, and win Superbowl) than the Colts last year(best record in NFL, and lose first game)

I hate people who complain about this. It's supposed to resemble profoessional football, where regular season record is important (insofar as you make the playoffs, get a bye, and a good matchup), but the playoffs give EVERYONE a chance to win. The prize goes to the winner of the playoffs. Wang

the question isnt who should win, it's which data should be used to determine if someone is a good owner or not. the guy that got 2nd place in my league played brandon jacobs and ben watson in the championship match, netting him 0 points. he lost (after beating me the previous week), but he isnt a good owner, he just got lucky during the playoffs.
