First Live Tourney Win

Recommended Posts

I just chopped a Weekly $300 tourney at the local indian casino. I chopped for the most getting $4,000 while the other two guys got $3,500. It was the largest buy-in tournment I have ever played in, but I felt confident that I could do well early today. I've mainly played $45 tournies at another casino for T$4000 and 100/200 15 minutes. The structure in this tourney was good, T$5000 with 25/50 blinds going up every half hour, so there was plenty of play early. I'm really happy about my play as I built a large stack at the start of the final table with a couple key hands, including getting QQ against JJ on a 10-high board and picking up Aces vs QQ. My confidence is up due to the fact I thought I'd would never win one, but I guess this isn't a bad place to start. 3-handed the other guys wanted a 3-way for $3700 each but I insisted on $4,000 for myself or i'd keep playing. They both eventually agreed on $3900 and flip a coin for an extra $100, which landed tails for me.Good to know that I'm running well

great job.. nice nice cash..off topic: anyone know of any indian casinos near Kenosha, WI?
Yup, Potowatomi Casino in Milwaukee would be your best bet. They have poker there (one of the few casinos in our fine state that have it. Im sick of that crap too), and are one of the only ones in the state that usually have a NL game running. I've never played poker there, as I live on the other end of the state and just stopped in shortly one day, but it's a really nice place. Vince Van Patten is in all the advertisements for it. (Which is rediculous)Hope that helps.-Shawn K

Even though it's an indian casino, I thought the Potowatomi was 21 not 18? Can anyone verify?

Your a sicko Nick. F'ing sicko. Which casino?
Immokalee's Seminole Casino, funniest part in retrospect is how angry the other two guys got at me when I insisted on more money. I dont even think we counted our chips, as we were all about even anyway. They tried sitting next to me with the payout sheet and explaining how much I could lose. They were more worried and was hoping I was bluffing when I said "let's play" and after one hand they gave inMy family couldn't understand how a kid my age can make that much money, or the fact I dont need to have a real job

Yea my parents don't really "get" the poker thing. They just think its gambling, but I bought them all nice Christmas gifts and told them to thank pokerstars. I haven't played many live tournaments, but the Seminole Casinos have decent structures and I'm going to play 4 or 5 of them in the next two weeks.
