I think FCP has helped many a new/casual//Daniel fans and general curious types to eventually branch out into exploring poker more seriously. It's helped many folks get started playing. Sure there is better serious strat elsewhere, but for the most part I think this place is somewhere fun to hang out and many times has lead to other helpful people or links or to other areas. If all you want is hard core help, then yes somewhere else is prolly better. But FCP has it's place in the poker community. It's been very good to many here, me included, but yeah, those other sites are great too. All the pieces add up to one big poker pie baby!

Well, it's one thing to say you don't like the hotel; it's quite another to take a big dump on the bed right before you leave. Personally, I've picked up a lot from this forum, just as I have from twoplustwo. And RGP. It's a big ol' internet out there... What was your expectation in writing your first post? Some kind of mass revelation?

OK I don't actually agree with OP, I didn't read what he wrote til just now(skimmed it).I don't think FCP is a bad place to come to and I enjoy the forums here, but if I had to choose only one site over the other to spend my time at it would be 2+2, there is just more going on there. The recent Brandi thread is a perfect example, threads like that just don't happen here and you're missing out on them unless they are crossposted. Think of what op wrote as more of a PSA and we can all be friends again!

I post at both and there is obviously no question that 2p2 has the better strat forum, but FCP is certainly helpful. I actually pass off alot of the ideas I have gotten over there here. I used to visit only General here and only strat at 2p2, but now I post alot in strat here. I find that there are plenty of FCP strat guys at 2p2 and that we are picking up ideas from the best players in the world to inject here. This will surely make FCP a good strat forum in the near future.

We've pretty much known that for years now. 2+2 is by far the best strategy / learning tool in regards to forums.

I was a member here first before I found 2+2 and was also a member at some other poker forums. Then I discovered 2+2. The quality of advice and skill of the posters there is incomparable to anywhere else on the net. My game became soooo much better as soon as I started posting there. I love daniel, but for strategy, 2+2 is the answer. Hell, alot of the top HSNL posts are better than daniel at NL holdem (before I get flamed, they are strickyl nl holem specialists)

Perfect example. You didn't really offend anyone until your second post. Your first post was just obvious BS that we all already know. I'm suprised you weren't flamed more for "I'm leaving.... sort of." It was a useless post. Your second post was more of a smear against the forum. Again, mostly true, but delivered in a very uncouth way. I try to avoid flames, and I'm probably one of the top offenders on posting useless except for humorous content, but screw you dude. Nobody cares what you have to say. If you want adult responses, start adult threads. "This place is cool for a laugh, but so and so is much better." What the hell is that about?

FWIW, I find the FCP strat forums to be fantastic for say, 5/10 and below LHE, and maybe like 600 NL and below.I have maybe 60 posts or so at 2p2, and I never really liked it.What I really like about FCP is the fact that it is more of a community, even in strat. Like, I pretty much know each of the strat posters, and talk to a ton of them outside of the forums. I really like that about FCP, and the fact that, while I'd like to see more traffic, I'd never want to see as much as 2p2, as that place is just hectic, and IMO, it's hard to filter out the good advice, from the bad.

I'm just curious, but has anyone noticed that in terms of poker content and contributions from tons of players that actually know what they are talking about, twoplustwo pretty much pwns this forum. I definitely still like coming here, mostly because I am a fan of Daniel and his blog, but I definitely think I am going to cut down on it because for the most part it is a waste of time. It seems that instead of feeling the need to contribute solid poker input to conversations, most posters just want to say the most witty thing they can think of that rarely has anything to do with the original topic. Coming to this site is like hanging out with the friend that you don't really like that much but hang with anyway just because he throws good parties. He is probably a bad influence on you, won't really help you at all, but its good entertainment value. In the end, this forum is pretty much a waste of anyones time who actually wants to improve their game. Its been fun, and I'm sure I will post from time to time, but for the most part....good bye.

I'll be the first to admit that I am not very nice to idiots and trolls, but what, exactly, have you brought to this forum, except negativity and trash talking? I don't think anyone here has tried to say that the FCP Strat forums are better than 2p2. If we have, please post a link. There are many, many individuals who post wonderfully insightful strategy here, if you took the time to read, and not put them down. As for the genpop and offtopic crowd, if you would stick around, there are tons of funny guys, and even more inside jokes, camaraderie, and more close knit friendships than 2p2 could ever have. I'm fairly certain that you have no clue about Tantalar's pottery or RonMex yelling at the deaf guy, or Royal being such a homo. My opinion, of course, but I would like you to post if you disagree.I have a feeling that you get negative feedback for most of the posts you make here, probably because you come off being so arrogant, like Ray said. I'd be willing to bet money that you aren't even noticed there, and as a result you are flamed less there, just because that community is so large, and there are many trolls like yourself, who bring nothing. There are simply many more idiots that post there, so here it's more concentrated. New deuches and trolls show up here on the order of once or twice a month, make stupid posts, get flamed, flame people, then leave. The core of good and entertaining people have and always will make FCP FCP, and we continue to add quality posters, such as Joey JoJo, dogpatch and others (these guys are off the top of my head). If you continue to post such negativity as a new guy, then don't expect to be well received here. It's just how it is. Although, I could argue with micro and low limit strat being offered here is really no different than that from 2p2. And, we're working on trying to get some more MS, HS action as well.

Well said, and I agree. I don't read High Limit Strat, so I don't know what is here or not here pertaining to higher stakes. I think an argument could be made that since this forum has only been around for a couple of years, that as we continue to get better as a community and raise our limits, our higher limit strat posts will continue to improve in quality and number. But.. its not. Its not a hard pill for anyone to swallow. I think if you read this thread you'll see tons of people agreeing that 2+2 has better strategy. I don't think anyone is in denial here. I just don't appreciate people who make posts whining about leaving because they found something better. It's very much a "jilted girlfriend" attitude I must admit. Basically OP "dumped" us, and did it in a nonflattering way. "I found someone new, more experienced, and hotter. I'm leaving you." Its insulting. Its a blow to the ego, especially for the people who spend a lot of time here trying to make this forum some place they want to be, and want other people to be comfortable being.
